Best camera I have owned. I will give a five if Nikon will update tue firmware to accept most cf express b and also improve the wildlife face and eye detection.

Nice, small and fast camera - just firmware upgrade necessary

Posted by Martin E Kristen on July 20, 2022

I'm half professional, working with Nikon products since the 1970s, came from D850/D500 to the first mirrorless Z7 II and now also the Z9. The Z7 II is a handy small camera with a lot of functions and an impressive speed. Happy that I can also use all my F-mount lenses, of which I own many. The only real problem for me are the differences in the menu between Z7 II and Z 9 - differences I not really understand. I would give 5 stars if the firmware of the two cameras would be similar. I'm missing the Shooting and Customs menu banks like in the Z9. A really missing function would be "Recall shooting functions (hold)" when assigning the function buttons. Firmware 2.0 probably ? But all in all a nice, small and fast camera

Nikon Z7II what a great camera

Posted by Brian Bradley on July 20, 2022

The Z 7II is a wonderful camera. Very little negative to say about. I also own the D850, and the Z7II is very similar to it in its capabilities. One thing to note: when in silent mode, the flash will not work. The display is adequate, and the controls are well laid out. If You’re used to te Nikon menu system, you’ll pick this camera up very quick. It has returned frame after frame of wonderful photos.

    Firmware Updates for Auto Focus

Posted by TOMMY BRANTLEY on July 20, 2022

I have a Z6 and Z7 with the latest firmware updates as of 07-21-22, the update did wonders for the Auto Focus. Am still waiting for those same updates for my Z7II and Z6l, l would appreciate if Nikon would remember the second generation of the Z line.

    Love my Z7 II

Posted by Fred Cheng on July 20, 2022

After buying the Z6 which is an amazing camera on its own, I needed higher megapixels of a Z7 II to give me the flexibility to take shots and crop in for specific post production composition while still keeping good resolution in the end result. Love the light weight but wish the battery would last longer on a charge. I change my lenses often out in the field and wish there was a way to close the shutter to protect the sensor in the process. It performs amazing and very happy with the pictures I get from this camera.

NIKON z7ii - Fastest Breakdown Ever (For Me)

Posted by Dawn Hodges on June 15, 2022

I want to say upfront that I have used Nikon products for the last 35 years and have been, for the most part, very pleased with their products.I also want to say this review is in regards to my second z7ii camera which I have had for exactly 36 days. Today, during a camera shoot and while reviewing shots on the LCD, I noticed a blue line running vertically through the right side of the recorded images in RAW and JPEG (fine*). The line runs straight through the image - TOP to BOTTOM with no breaks and no jagged edges. Looks like part of the sensor is dead and just showing a brilliant blue line through the image.I have used NIKON equipment in some of the most rugged and unforgiving places found on earth. Extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, snow, dust and mud - but I have never had one simply break down after 30 days of ownership and with no perceivable cause.I hate to give this camera only a single star because I love the product line a great deal and have experience very favorable results using the cameras. But the question that keeps rolling through my mind is: Has Nikon quality fallen down and how often these camera bodies be in the shop verses helping me make a living?! The other question, that I have never had to ask myself - Do I now need 3 Nikon cameras rather than just 2 to keep myself in business?!So, off to NIKON camera service this one goes and when it comes back and whether NIKON will honor their warranty after only 36 days is all a mystery.Very disappointing!

    Best Camera Ever

Posted by Ailsa Deayton on January 25, 2022

Great camera, well worth the $$. I have been using this camera for 6 months or so now and it hasn't disappointed me. As others have mentioned, the autofocus is lacking on occasions so for that reason, I do switch between manual and auto focus modes regularly. This is a great camera for both portraits and nature photos. I also have done a great deal of night photography with this camera and it has been very impressive to see the results. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone looking to upgrade their gear or add to their gear. The BEST! :)

    Incredible.

I am blown away by the clarity and color reproduction of this camera. I purchased it today along with the Z 50 1.8 S and I am so happy with this combination so far. Granted I have only been around the house taking pics of just about everything and I am very impressed! Can't wait to test it more extensively.I also own the D500 and that too is great. I haven't been disappointed with Nikon yet. Did I mention I am very happy with the purchase of the Z7 II!!!
