    I'm Totally NIKON!

Posted by Manuel Noriega on July 29, 2022

I am totally NIKON, I have used Nikon since I was a kid. before I started using the Z7II I have used the D810.my comments on the Z7II; 1.- Regarding the body of the camera, it is perfect for me, light and ergonomic. 2.- The image quality is excellent, with high resolution quality and great dynamic range. 3.- It took me a bit of work to understand the menu shortcuts, but I almost mastered it, 4.- I have two comments against, the first is the cost, it would be excellent if costs could be lowered a little, =).but my main problem is Focus control. especially in macro photography, Insects. I struggled a bit to focus, and this did not happen to me with the D810, it was much faster to focus on moving insects. I hope and it would be great if it can be corrected with a new software update. I have my camera updated but still it is not as fast to focus as my D810. but when I get the focus, the quality is unmatched as only NIKON knows how to do it.

Powerful camera in a compact size!

Posted by William Boling on July 29, 2022

Love the extra pixels, worth the upgrade from my Z 6II which was also great. It makes a big difference when printing large format from a cropped photograph. Just returned from a two week shoot of mountain waterfalls, the relative light weight and compact size was great while hiking in the NC mountains.

    Best I've ever used...

Posted by Byron Blomquist on July 27, 2022

The best camera body I've ever owned. I love the ergonomics and size/weight. Resolution, dynamic range and color rendition of the sensor are all I could ever want. I have six Z lenses for this body now and they are the best glass I've ever had. I do some wildlife & bird photography and would appreciate the focus tracking, sensor speed and no-blackout viewfinder features of the Z9 in a Z7-size body. Don't want the extra size and weight of a Z9 body, even though it is a fantastic camera in all respects. Don't shoot video, so I don't care about those features.

The resolution is fantastic! I love my Nikon Z7ii. It is compact and light which is one of the advantages when comparing it to the Z9. I would love to see Nikon make a 24-400mm Z lens for this camera.

My first mirrorless camera. I was using the D7500 and so far I am blown away with the quality of images of the Z7II. Excellent in low light, outstanding detail! This camera is very responsive. I am looking forward to thoroughly examining this cameras capabilities.

    Great Camera!

I like the Z7ii better than my D850. I wish it had better focus tracking for birds in flight. Overall, it's a great camera

    Equal but Lighter

Posted by Dwight Bandemer on July 24, 2022

This is a superb camera. I had been using a D850 and was fully satisfied with it's photos and creative options. But at my age, 77, it was heavy to carry. The Z7 II is lighter, has great features and takes fantastic pictures. And the Z series of lenses are fantastic.

    Better then comparable DSLRs

Posted by Andrey Sarafanov on July 24, 2022

Smaller and lighter than comparable DSLRs, good quality of pictures. Next time, though, I will try Z9 which is substantial camera
