Z6 Firmware V3
Incredible update! Tracking is now very usable. I was very reluctant to rely on it before but it rarely misses now. Love that Nikon keeps improving performance through firmware.
Next on my wishlist: A firmware update that closes the shutter when changing lens to protect the sensor! -

Excellent eye tracking on my pups ! Also on birds in flight seem to be improved !

Extremely good photos
Have had the Z6 since release. Have been happy since the beginning and it keeps getting better with firmware improvements. I have good experience with the focus. Only struggles are in situations with little contrast. Happy with high ISO performance. Lenses super sharp. FTZ is ok but native lenses are much better. Battery life ok but carry a spare when using all day. Weight is nice. Easy to carry. SnapBridge works well for me. Would purchase again. Looking forward to a longer native lens.

My Z6 is even better with the 3.0 upgrade
I just upgraded to the 3.0 firmware. An easy process after following directions. I am still mastering the camera. So far its great and far better than I expected. The pics I have taken are super. The auto focus features have proven to be spectacular. I haven´t taken many pics of pets but the AF tracking ability has definitely been raised a ´´few notches.´´
My camera´s body does has some unexpected wear on the camera body around the functional 1and2 buttons on the front. Wish the skin was more durable. Still love my Z6 -

Z6 Many improvements over D600
I upgraded from a D600 to a Z6. I was surprised at how good and useful the EVF was. And very comfortable size and weight. Fits well in hand, not too heavy or too light. Excellent Nikon human engineering. Similar to D600 but many new features to learn. Focus stacking, silent mode, auto tracking, etc. F lens work well on Z6 but Z lens are better, in terms of size and sharpness. Very pleased with Z6.

Great update!
I downloaded the 3.0 firmware for my Z6; I don´t shoot people or pets very often, but I tried out the update on my Z6 and photographed my cats. The upgrade worked like a champ--no issues as long as I have/had good light. The only problematic one was my tuxedo cat in poor light (he has a mostly black face). Overall, I think it worked great and I´m sure I will have the opportunity to use it in the future.

Firmware 3.0 is great
Upgraded my Z6 to 3.0 firmware and love it the focus tracking is excellent and easy to activate by using the Fn1 button. The animal eye AF works very well too. I´m getting nice sharp photos of my dog, it Locks right on his eyes!

upgrade to Z6 and Z7
I have loved the 2 cameras since the purchase! The updates have been amazing - I go to Photo shows imaging USA and WPPI and here all the hype about Sony and I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase ... I am still waiting for more pro lenses as this would help Nikon obtain more market place. Having to use an adapter for some of my lenses are still no fun. but the new focus is amazing and I have shot it side by side with Sony and Nikon has won every time thus far!
