Not my first Nikon!
Posted by Donald Gillikin on May 9, 2021
I couldn't be happier with the Z5. My first Nikon was the F3 then the F4 then numerous digital models ending with a D750. I gave a hard look to the first Z's but held off however when I saw the Z5 and all the glowing reviews, I made the jump and traded the D750 for the Z5 along with the 24-70mm F4. What I now look forward to is seeing the 24-105mm for the Z as it's what I've been happiest using since my early film days. I shoot landscapes and street mostly. I couldn't be happier!

Had for almost 8 months now.
Posted by Zair Paczkowski on May 9, 2021
I have had my Z5 for about 8 months now. Moved over from using an Olympus om-d em 5 mark II. The ergonomics and button layout are more comfortable on the Z5 and the image quality is amazing. I have been using the FTZ adapter to use my F mount lenses, 24mm F1.4, 35mm F1.4, and 60mm F2.8 Macro and they all work great on the Z5.

A Great Camera
Posted by PETER KLEINSCHMIDT on May 9, 2021
The Z system is fantastic because the lenses are incredibly sharp creating brilliant images. I am a full-time portrait and event photographer and bought the Z5 as a backup to my Z6ii and switch effortlessly between them. The Z system is second to none but it is nothing like the DSLRs and takes a bit of studying the manual and YouTube videos (which there are many) to get to where you need it. It's fun to use and wonderfully light.

Excellent camera with no affordable lens to add!!
Posted by Paul Martin on May 9, 2021
Excellent easy to use camera. The only draw back. Lens are way too expensive!! I can not afford any z lenses!!! Why??? 1300 for camera. 1000 for lens to go on it!!!! It’s a shame no reason for them to be that expensive. If you build a camera you should have affordable lens to buy. No wonder your sales are down .

The Perfect Camera for My Needs
Posted by Joe Routon on May 9, 2021
My camera for several years was the Nikon D610, which I liked very much. After much thought and research I decided to go digital. More investigation convinced me that the Nikon Z5 was the best one to suit my needs as a portrait, street, food, flower, and travel photographer. Since I do a lot of travel photography, the lens I chose was the Z 24-200mm, eliminating the need to carry several lenses. I like the fact that the Z5 holds two SD cards and that the photos are tack sharp. The camera and lens have exceeded my expectations. Both are top-notch! I'm extremely pleased.

This was to replace my f1 . is lighter than my 850 and solves my need for a lighter camera and I can use all my lens from my 850. well with the fx lens.I have been a fan of Nikon since I purchased my F2 film camera in the early 70's.this camera is a jewel I love it. RAG

Good place to start with mirrorless
Posted by Greg Burleigh on May 9, 2021
I moved up to the Z5 from my D50 i bought 15 yrs ago. Its a great entry into the mirrorless system. I'm learning all the features it has an it has alot. I bought it as a kit with the 24-50 lens, and i recomend getting the larger lens also. I bought a 50-250 and it works really well. I bought it because i can use the FTZ adapter with my older nikon lens. The pics are sharp and true to life. I print on an Epson printer and so far the reproduction is spot on. I love to 5 focal points to use. They are great for bird shots in trees, focal point on the bird and disfuse the tree branches makes it really stand out. I so far have no issuse with it except the high end S lens are really costly. The film mode is nice also, and useing my 50-250 i focused on my grandson at bat from right field. As he hit and ran to first the lens control was smooth to keep him in focus with very little vibration. All in all im very happy with my choice.

Probably the best entry level MLC full frame at an enticing price.
Posted by Ronald Plesco on May 9, 2021
A lot of camera for under $1,000. The two SD cards are really handy. I also have a Z6 and a Z50, and I feel the Z5 at present is a much better deal than the Z50. The images the camera makes are very good. I think Nikon had a price point they were shooting for, so they eliminated the top LCD from the Z6, no BSI, and back LCD as well as EVF don't have as much resolution as the Z6. Less camera than the Z6, but much more camera than the Z50 for almost the same price.
