I'm not a professional, but photography is my hobby. My D90 Nikon quit working and I had a number of different lens. I bought the Nikon Z5 with the kit lenses and on first look I questioned the quality as it did not have the weight and appearance of my old lenses. However, I was overly impressed with the sharpness of my pictures and it did not disappoint. It is nice that the Z’s are lighter weight lens and easier to hold for us senior adults! I’m very impressed with both the Z16-50 and the Z50-250 lens. I bought the FTZ II lens adapter, but not sure how often I will use it now that I see how sharp my pictures are with the new lens.

Very good for what it is

Very nice for what it is. Replaced my Z5 and Z mount full frame lenses to reduce weight when traveling. At half the weight and half the cost it is very versatile and easy to carry for long periods. Picture quality isn’t quite up to the Z mount S full frames but still very good.

Still new to Z50
Posted by Phibulsri Mustoe on February 4, 2024
Well, I'm still new to Z50. For any reason I still like my D3400 with 300 mm lens. It feel and adjust for focusing seem to be more easy than Z DX 50 - 250 leans. I enjoy it ! Still more to learn with Z50 set.

Light and handy to use, easy to take along on a hike or in town, nice compliment to the 16-50 lens

Best bang for the buck in zooms...

For the money, the lens renders sharp, great-color images. It is lightweight, fast to focus, and an all-around excellent zoom lens. Highly recommended.

The autofocus on this lens is fast and accurate. The image quality is nice and sharp. Still getting used to the lens. All the images of the animals are taken when they are behind the fence. Good lens

Nice lens with a cheap mount.

Optically it is a very nice lens. I am disappointed that it has a plastic lens mount. Longer lenses put more strain on the mount and I would feel better with a metal bayonet mount. How much more would it cost to do it right?
