Great lens for use with my Nikon Z50!

Posted by Hollimark Holliday on June 22, 2026

This lens came as part of the kit I got when I purchased my z50. I've been using it for over two years and have been very happy with the quality and functionality of this set up. The images are clean, the mechanisms are smooth, and it feels goo in my hands. It is also nice to have a capable system that is light and compact while I am traveling. My one real "issue" is the lack of weather sealing, but I knew that when I bought it, and if you have to cut some features to keep the price down, that is probably the one I would choose as well.

    Excellent lens

I thought I would use this lens for a while, then sell it and get something better (kinda like I thought about the Z30). After using it for over a year I have to say I have really grown to like it. The build quality is good, the pictures are sharp, and the lens has held up just fine. No complaints, about the lens, or the under-appreciated Z30.

light, affordable as compared to other zooms of same range and great design on the internal zoom so there is no lens extension to get dirty or wet

Nice sharp lens for the money!

Posted by David Mangani on March 10, 2026

Now that I am retired I am able to spend the time I never had while working on a hobby of mine from many years ago. I had been using an old Nikon L830 bridge camera for family photos and an occasional scene or animal. I knew that I wanted to step back into the hobby in a satisfying way and the Nikon z52 two lens kit was a fantastic starting point! This lens is very versatile and relatively compact. I have been using it regularly to shoot birds ( mainly ). using this on the aps-C 50-250 zoom gives me a decent 375mm full frame equivalent focal length. The VR does help when shooting at long focal lengths and has provided me with some nice sharp shots. I have been pleased with the lens and would recommend it to other casual/hobby phtotographers. Great value especially if purchased together as a bundle.

I had the same lens on another camera that I don’t have anymore and had to get that lens again ! It is easy to carry around and hike a few miles with it and take great pics!

Good Lens for a Beginner or Hobby Photography

Posted by Rex Whittington on January 28, 2026

This is a lens worth buying. Its capabilities surpasses this person behind the glass. With this lens it has made getting back into photography much easier. If you get the settings, and composition right, the glass will produce clear pictures with sharp images.. This lens will make you look like a true artist not just someone with a part time hobby. I don’t know if it’s for professional photographers but it’s certainly good for someone who’s just getting into photography. It’s worth the money.
