D850

I have been shooting with the D850 for over two years now both in the studio and the field. I find it very solid and easy to use. Transitioning from my D7200 was no issue. I am thinking of adding a second one body to the camera bag.

I’ve been out of the photo workd for quite a while. My last Nikon was an F2. That was a stupendous piece of equipment. Alas, I am now 72 and I have thousands of underwater slides, macros, and negatives both color and b&w all 35 mm film. Of all the cool stuff this camera does my favorite use is to convert color and b&w film to jpg and bluetooth it to my phone where I can share those memories with others, also I can put paper pictures on a copy stand and the come out great!The D850 is an extension of my old professional work, and I absolutely love it!

In a world of mirrorless cameras I just purchased this camera and I love it. I chose it for a few of reasons. I needed a camera for wildlife and landscapes. I wanted the higher megapixels. I needed a camera for wildlife and landscapes that I could crop in if needed but also gave the ability to do larger prints for landscapes. This camera fits both. Also, I have a complete line up of lenses. I have the trinity plus every prime and the 17-35 and 200-500. These lenses works beautifully on the D850. The camera is fast enough for my needs. This camera was the perfect upgrade for me and anyone who has a complete line of DSLR lens but is ready for the next body.

This is an amazing camera! I've shot Nikon since my first FM back in the '80's, which is why I've mainly been using my 2 Df cameras of late (call it nostalgia), but we just added a D850 to the lineup and have been blown away by the amazing quality of the images and the incredible flexibility this body affords us.

“Wait, didn’t you already own a D850?”“Yes, I did.”“Then why did you buy another one?”“There’s never been another camera like it, and I want them to last as long as they can.”Switching between them is no problem. I could get philosophical about it.Two cameras of identical quality and design gives you back-up, interchangeable use, redundancy, the ability to test on one and produce on the other. You can attach contrasting or similar lens sizes on either one and derive more than double the creativity. This camera’s ability is virtually boundless, and I keep finding ways to do things I didn’t know about. From its uncanny focusing mechanism to its battery life, to its array of menu and shooting options, there’s nothing else that matches it except another D850.

The level of detail and sharpness this camera captures is simply incredible. Shooting in low light without a tripod is effortless, and the solid, tank-like build feels great in the hand. I already own the holy trinity of F-mount lenses, so switching to the Z system, even with an adapter, just doesn’t make sense for me. Still, despite not being the newest model, this camera absolutely rocks!

For me, it was a no-brainer. I am a photographer so I had a choice get the best DSLR ever made at a phenomenal price or buying into new technology that is changing as fast as new cell phones. The 850 gives me more than what I need Feels good in your hand looks great through the view finder and give you results that are impeccable. You get the better DSLR…nuff said!

I started out buying the three trinity lenses in f2.8 before I bought the camera. I was waiting for the Z9 to come out but at the time, I didn't think I was going to get it or the D850 so I bought the D500, Shortly there after, the D850 was finally available. I am very happy with both. The D850 is my primary and I love how it and the MB-D18 fill my hand. The abilities it affords me, to take great pictures is fantastic. I use it for people and landscapes mostly and the D500 for wildlife. I've purchased the 300 f/4 PF ED and the 200-500mm F/5.6E which I use on the D500 along with the TC-14E III when I want to reach out further. I'm not able to afford the really expensive large primes in the 500-600 range or the 180-400 F4, but if I ever trip over a lottery, I will.

The D850 is an incredible DSLR, but since I bought a refurbished unit, it didn’t come with the original box. That’s a bit disappointing.
