D850

A life time Nikon shooter here…

After 47 years as a full time photographer I have retired from the daily grind to a slower relax grind. I started my career with a twin lens reflex Rollie camera and 120-220 film in 1969.

I´ve owned and used most Nikon DSLR´s since the start of digital photography. I recall the D2H as one of the best at that time… Nikon you´ve come a long way baby!

I never own a D4 or D5 series…most everything else. My D3s is still a great camera. I just sold it, :-( . My D800 was great so I thought I quit buying at that point. Now after owning a D810 for years I purchased a D500 with a 200-500mm for fun stuff… kids playing sports wildlife etc… Then they came out with the D850…. a no brainer! So I´m a one month onwer of a D850 and I can´t put it down.

I´m still learning it´s many functions and features. Go Nikon!

Finally at the end of my photo career they made the best… better late then never for me. I´m just jealous that you younger shooters have so much to look forward to!

PS. Having used battery grips for my all my cameras in the past I opted out this time on my D850…. feels naked. Let´s see how long before I put a jacket on.

I went from the d610 to the d850. The detail in the d850 is outstanding. Used the camera in a low light situation and found the continuous focus to work great. The recovery detail in the highlights in bright sun was surprising. Only problem I found was in video mode, focus tracking didn´t stay on focus.

I have been shooting with Nikon gear for longer then I can remember and the D850 earns the top spot when I go back and compare the images to other Nikon DLRs I shot with down to the D100. I came from the film world. This camera is very sophisticated and I shoot with other camera´s from Sony and Canon but this camera is it.

I have a D800 and it is fantastic, now with the new D850 it is another camera level, its speed and the sharpness in the shot is incredible, with it I feel almost almost a mantis shrimp (for me, the living being, of better vision in the planet). and I´m still in the reading phase of the manual and testing its functions to see its capabilities, very good Nikon work.

This was my Christmas present to myself. I like my camera but because of how sensitive it is I have had to relearn how to take a photo I used to steady my camera by bracing it to my body. I invested in professional light weight tripod and a monopod. I love my D850 full frame is the way to go.

The D850 offers everything that this professional photographer could want from a camera.

Upgraded from a D300 to the D850, focus speed, accuracy, Dynamic range, viewfinder, all vast improvements over the old D300.

I have been using Nikons since 1971, when I purchase an FTn and 50mm f/1.4 lens. I still use the 50mm with the D850 I have had for close to a month. I have had a D800 since 2013, and a D500 for a little over 1 year, and the D850 surpasses my highest expectations, despite my reading many reviews and evaluations of the D850. I wish I had a second D850 Body! I have used both the D500 and the D800 as backup bodies, with great results, but knowing what the D850 is capable of I know the Upgrade of images/video quality could be substantial with a second D850.

I have being shooting with Nikon since 2015, stared with the D550 then the D750 and now D850. For me the different is noticeable, very well performance in low light, the ISO, the metering, every thing, I´m very very Happy
