D5600 - Everything I expected and more!
I bought the D5600 as my first DSLR in the standard Nikon 2 lens kit. My wife and I travel extensively and I have been taking pictures with point-and-shoot cameras or borrowing my daughters D7200. I wanted a camera that had advanced features but was not overly complex since this is MY first DSLR.I received the camera a few days before we left for a 2 week pilgrimage to Israel. I brought myself up to speed on the functions of the camera and was extremely pleased with the performance of the camera on our trip and the ease of use.
I have had the camera for less than a month, but took nearly 3000 pictures on my pilgrimage, so I can tell you that it was fun to have this camera with me since it was VERY easy to use and I am very pleased with the results of the pictures. I only carried the 2 lenses that came in the kit and mostly used the 18-55
My attached photos were taken in automatic/no flash mode
Pros:
1) In automatic mode, the speed in which the camera focuses and responds is remarkable
2) Low light picture capture without flash is amazing and extremely accurate. I experienced no delays in focusing far or near in low light and quickly capturing a clear image
3) SnapBridge app phone control. The SnapBridge app gives you easier control in manual modes and provides a seamless transfer of photos to phone for sharing and storing in the cloud
4) lightweight body that still feels solid
5) the display is a great size and the rotational capabilities are wonderful for movie making and taking pictures when the camera is positioned away from your face.
6) Video capture is exceptional
Cons:
1) keeping the camera connected to your phone greatly decreases the battery charge on the camera and your phone. If you chose to leave them connected, be sure to have a charger for your phone as well as spare batteries charged for the camera
