    Best Bridge Camera Out There!!

Posted by BonnieLee on March 3, 2019

If I could afford $10,000 dollar lenses, it would be great! But since that is no option, I purchase bridge cameras. This is by far the best out there!! The zoom is absolutely wonderful and I am able to capture wildlife at a distance easily. This camera REALLY reaches out there! Use a tripod to get the best results. This is my 3rd bridge camera and believe me, there is NOTHING out there that will come close to the Nikon P1000. Yes it is a little heavy...but worth it. Attach a Peak Design heavy duty camera strap (no equal for this easily adjustable strap) and you won´t have any difficulty. Had this camera for only 2 months and loving it!!

    The Non-Professional´s Holy Grail

Posted by Alligator on March 1, 2019

Finally, a camera that I can use to take nature pictures without chasing nature away AND at a cost way more reasonable than those professional 3 foot lenses. If you aim it to the East, you can see tomorrow. A picture of a new wedding couple at 200m shows their two college kids by 3000m. The most often said word about this camera, to anyone I show it, is: ´´INSANE!´´. If they haven´t read White´s book, don´t listen to the critics. The built-in software is awesome. Mine fits real well in the Nikon Holster. No complaints with anything. I found a long handled tripod mount with a 3´´ quick connect that allows me to off-center balance the camera for tripod use but the VR is fine for those other shots. I also bought the NIkon CPL and Nikon Protector fitler. I did get the Nikon wall mount battery charger and do not intend to charge the battery in the camera. Thank you NIKON, K

Short time owner - Still learning the camera

Posted by BobT on February 27, 2019

While I´ve only had the P1000 for a short time and I´m still learning how to operate it, I´m finding it´s doing just what I thought it would for me and I´m quite happy with it. I own the P900 also and while some things are similar there is still a learning curve. It is a goods bit heavier than the P900 which takes quite a bit of getting use to, I´ve had to go to a heavier monopod to support it. I´m glad I made the purchase!

    Great zoom for birding

Posted by Bumblebee on February 17, 2019

I was looking for that extra distance for the bird in the top of the tree. I got it in this camera. It is a little heave when fully zoomed so I use a singlepod or a tripod when going for a special picture. It is easy to use and was less expensive than buying a telescope lens for my other Nikon camera. It great for a novice like me
.My only problem is I like a backup battery and so far none are available even from Nikon. Hope they get some in stock. I always want a spare battery at special occasions along with an extra card. Don´t want to miss anything.

Nice camera, no regrets in buying it

    Posted by Dominic06 on February 4, 2019

This has been a great camera upgrade for me. I would buy it again for sure, having a great zoom and not needing to carry multiple lenses has been wonderful. I´ve had a lot of fun with it,from taking pictures of my grandson to taking pictures of the Caribbean. The scenes, auto scene, skin color with the flash and other features/settings do a great job. It is hard to get a really clear picture when zoomed in a lot, recommend using the tripod.

    I love the camera....

Posted by Gabe on January 25, 2019

I have a Nikon D3 and a D3s with all the lenses… They are great BUT… they are big and heavy. I have lenses from 12 to 600…. But if I make pics I have to get the right lenses with the camera. Now with the P1000 everything is there, it is lighter, and 1 piece. Yes I am missing the 12-24mm, but I got 600-3000 mm extra. And yes there are special circumstances where the other cameras are far better, but 90% of the time I am not using those special circumstances. And the 3000 mm is a dream! I visited Yellowstone National Park, nothing was too far away for me! In addition I visited Antelope Canyon, it is relative dark there, other people used tripods, I held the camera in my hand and made the pics. And the pics are a dream! Whatever reason I am unable to upload pics, but the pic I made with 24mm you can not even see the object and if I make the pic with the 3000mm from the same place the object fills up about 80% of the pic. It is incredible!!!!

    Great camera for the price

    Posted by Desperado52 on January 9, 2019

I was amazed how good this camera is. I do a lot of air shows and shoot a lot of nature pictures. I got a SX60 last year and liked it but the P1000 blows it out of the water. Love the lens range and many of the other features and has worked well for me so far in nature. Air shows coming this summer. Its a fun camera to use and I can´t see this sitting a lot as it goes with me every time I go out. Still learning and enjoying it more.
