DOE WHAT NO CELL PHONE OR DLSR CAN!
Posted by Tom Terry on May 30, 2023
THE NIKON A1000 DOES WHAT NO CELL PHONE CAMERA CAN.THIS A CROWD PLEASER for those in the know.A unique and fantastic camera — small coat pocket sized with combination (35x) super zoom and essential electronic viewfinder (EFV) to accurately aim that wonderful optical soda-straw. Yes, a small but excellent and adequate sensor required for a lens package with small form factor. The best camera is the one you have with you and this is always in my walk-about bag I always have with me. I gave up a long time ago trying to use a super-zoom lens while waggling it around in sunlight trying to aim it with a large screen on the back. WHEN. DO WE SEE THE A1100?

This may be the only camera you need
Posted by CHARLES COLLINS on July 8, 2022
WOW! This is a lot of camera packed in a tiny space. It can serve virtually all of your needs. I have a passion for long telephoto shots, and for a camera to fit in your shirt pocket that has a 24-840mm optical zoom almost defies description. Get it, and you won’t be sorry. Double thumbs up!!!!!

It's a great camera unless you drop it in the ocean like I did and it doesn't work anymore.

I Like the Camera
Posted by Apple on October 11, 2019
The price at $400 is a bit steep for my budget. I would highly consider this camera at $250 especially since it´s a point and shoot type camera. The one really nice thing it has going for it is a view finder which is missing from most budget point and shoot camera now a days. Bright sunlight will wash out the LCD Screen making the shot a guess. There are some accessories that you can put over the LCD Screen so you can shoot in bright sunlight, however, now you you have to carry extra accessories with you and I´m one for traveling light as possible. Overall, if Nikon were to drop the price I would highly consider the purchase. For the same price you can get a D3500 DSLR camera and with a little bit more money get some halfway decent lenses for it too. I also owned a D3500 and it does take phenomenal pictures too.

Coolpix A1000 now really ready
Posted by Henk on August 6, 2019
I bought the Nikon A1000 in Dec 2018 based on the published reviews to replace my Panasonic DMC-ZS60 which had trouble providing sharp focus across the images. Initially, the A1000 did that and then some. Images were quite a bit sharper than the ZS60 it replaces. It is not a D750/850, but then, it is not meant to be; try to stick one of those in your pocket!.
However, it did suffer quite a bit from hesitating when settings were changed and when using the RAW setting, especially when shooting sequences. I was advised by Nikon that they were working on a firmware update that should address the issues I reported.
After installing the new firmware, it appears that firmware Version 1.1 addresses these issues.
