Does the job. But like most other reviewers, I fail to understand why this was not included with the camera. What a waste of resources requiring me to buy this separately.

Should be included with camera
The cap works as designed to protect the shoe. However, this item should have been included with the camera as one of the supplied accessories items. Come on Nikon, for $2.00? You can't include it?

Apparently Nikon does not consider that covering & protecting the flash contacts is important? Why?
If it would be important, Nikon would have added this to my brand new Nikon D7500?!?! I do not understand this logic. -

It is simply a smart idea to have one of these small little protective caps for your camera. The protection it offers [when accessory shoe is not in use] against damage and dirt, is well worth the money spent on it.

Sometimes It´s the Little Things...
Sometimes it is the little things that count! This small little shoe cap, no bigger than my thumb nail slips right into the empty slot of the accessory shoe on the top of the camera to keep it covered when not in use. It keeps it dust free, dry, and overall protected. Everyone should have one, and if you lose it, get another. It´s that simple!
