Beautiful lens thus far ! Nice and clean images. Can't ask for much more than that.

Better than the f1.4 copy I had.

Outstanding sharpness and color rendition at all apertures on my D800e!! Would definitely recommend this lens to any Nikon owner seeking an outstanding 35mm f1.8 lens. I had the f1.4 version of this last year and find the 35 f1.8 to be much superior.

Another winner in the Nikkor f/1.8G series... even better than its 35mm f/2D predecessor.

I love this lens as a "standard" as it's sharpness and IQ are on par with the 50mms, but it has a little more field of view. This 35mm outperforms my older 35mm f/2D by a little bit and the build quality seems to be a step up. The AFS might be a touch slower than the old D lens, but the ability to manually adjust focus at any time is a bonus. (The 35mm f/2D is no slouch though, and some prefer its very compact size and light weight. I sold mine when I got the newer f/1.8G) I have the 24mm f/1.8G, this 35mm f/1.8G and the 50mm f/1.8G and find them each to be very impressive lenses.

    Love It!

This is a fabulous lens! Incredible sharpness all the way into the corners. Compact, light weight, fast aperture, and a versatile angle of view. At f/5.6 you can't beat the sharpness of this lens. Also great color and contrast. All of this goodness at a modest price. I use it as often as possible on my D850.

Excellent lens for availble light images

Posted by JRDPHOTOG on November 16, 2016

Most of my work is photojournalism. I just received this lens and ran it through the paces and made comparison images with my Nikkor AF-S 17-35 2.8 ED lens with each lens at 2.8, high and low ISO. In my opinion the resulting images were excellent. On a job I used it exclusively for a number of shots. The work was shot wide open and down to f4, all excellent images. Lightweight, quiet and spot on focus. I have always found a 35mm lens to be pretty much perfect as a ´´normal´´ lens.

Very good lens for everyday photography

Posted by Haruna on July 28, 2014

This lens is very sharp, create beautiful background blur and is outstanding when shooting in low light. It works perfect for me to shoot pictures in a bar at late night, at such situation, it works way better than my 16-35F4, highly recommend if you need a small, lightweight lens for everyday photography, especially in low light.
