    Best Single Lens

    If I leave my house with only one lens it´s most often the 24-70 f2.8. Most of my work is event coverage and on my D700 the 24-70 range is great for most events. This lens is sharp throughout the range. Close focus is also great as is low-light focus. The only downside to this lens is the weight but after using my 70-200 f2.8 this lens actually feels light.

    Have been using the lens for sports, landscape, and portraits and it is great. Love the smooth action, quick focus, and excellent image quality. Great companion lens to my 70-200 f2.8.

    Best Wide-Angle Zoom Period!

    I have owned this lens for 2 years now and it is best lens I have used for all around photography. I shoot Candid Street Photography and find myself in low light mos to of the time. This lens can deal with any situation with ease. It also works great when shooting wide shots to Portraits.

    Awesome Lens

    This is one lens that virtually every pro photographer should own. It is incredibly sharp throughout the range with fantastic color. It also handles harsh lighting conditions with excellent control of flare and CA. It performs as well as may fixed primes. You will not be disappointed with this lens.

    Perfect walk-around lens.

    This is a must have lens. Every time I use the lens, I am still amazed at the incredible sharpness of the images. Fast, quick to focus, sharpness that must be seen to believe, a perfect balance on each of my cameras, what more could I ask for?

    I´m not a technical writer or a pro-photographer. But I love this lens matted to my D700. Excellent all around lens. Autofocus is fast and quite. This is a fast lens 2.8F and I´m able to use without using a flash. Which I like about. If I can design this lens. I would make it a VR. This lens is costly but if you can afford it or photography is your gig. Its´ a buy.

    I use the Nikor 24-70 F: 2.8 mostly for circus pictures (low light,fast moves) and I get great results.

    One of the Best if not the best lens

    This lens is the best that I have ever owned. It is superb. I did commercial architecture all my life with 8x10 and 4x5 cameras with prime Schneider and Rodenstock Goertz Dagor lens. I expected this lens to be good, but it outshines those lens in terms of sharpness and minimal flare. If you are in doubt rent one and then be ready to buy one.
