    Excellent general purpose lens.

Posted by FreeBird on July 9, 2014

I use the 35 mm f1.8 prime lens along with my 18-55 Kit lens and 55-200 tele-zoom lens. Light weight camera bag but 28 mm up to 300 mm range (D3100 DSLR) for nature and travel pictures. Recommended for all.

AMAZING FOR EVERY TYPE OF SHOOTER!

Posted by MRPHOTO on June 12, 2014

From beginners to the very experienced, this lens produces great sharp and bright images on DX Camersa such as my D3100 and FX such as my D800. All around lesns, amazing price, crazy light. Nice quality plastic.

    Outstanding and Highly Cost Effective

Posted by ExPatinItaly on May 30, 2014

Truly exceptional sharpness and contrast. I´m a long time Nikon user and adding this fixed focal length lens to the stable of contemporary zooms has been a great choice. Terrific in low light candids. Also outstanding in landscape and architectural shooting with color, sharpness, contrast and minimal distortion unexpected at this price. I´m personally enjoying revisiting the earlier days when composition was done with a fixed focal length prime, of course then on a rangefinder 35 mm camera. Interesting how going back to basics sharpens skills.

    Great All-Purpose Lens

Posted by ChrisMoSquad on May 30, 2014

I love this lens! It has good build quality and the focal length is perfect for shooting walk around photography without any distortion. Images are super-sharp and it adds just the right amount of weight to my D7100 camera. Low-light photography is excellent! I highly recommended trying one out!

The best value lens Nikon makes

Posted by giggingit on May 11, 2014

I already have a 50mm 1.8/G for use on FX, which I use with my D600, so I almost decided not to buy this lens. However, the price is too good to pass up. I have been very pleased with this decision. Focusing capability is quite fast on my D7100, and the pictures are clean and crisp. Low light performance is great. Bokeh isn´t quite as nice as the 50/1.8, but when used stopped down their performance is equal. I especially enjoy how light the 35mm is and it is well sized to match a DX body.

#1 lens you need for DX camera

Posted by dandi on May 8, 2014

If I have to keep only one lens for my D5100 or D200 it would be this 35mm 1.8. When I go on vacation and I know I have to walk a lot I just take one this lens and never miss any other lenses. Very simple to use, nothing gets in your way, yet excellent quality, colors. Very good in low light.
Fast, very sharp, light and inexpensive. You can´t go wrong with this one for your DX Nikon body.

    Great Lens

Posted by THEBEAST on May 7, 2014

Great Lens, Takes great shots and has a nice wide angle. I just have the kit lens that came with my 3200 (18-55mm) and I use both lenses but this lens is the one I use the most because it takes wider shots and is better in my opinion for portraits.

    Exellent

Posted by jryd on May 5, 2014

I must say the first time I took this lens out on a shoot I was very impressed! The clarity, the sharpness, the fast focus. This is now one of my go to lenses. If you are trying to choose between the 50mm and this 35mm this is the lens I recommend.
