Look No Further
Posted by StudentPhotographer on April 30, 2015
This lens is truly one of the best purchases I´ve ever made. I use it every single day, and it works for so many kinds of photography. It is perfect for portraits, but also landscapes and scenery. I love this lens so much and don´t think I could find a better ´´everyday´´ lens if I tried. If you´re considering this lens, go ahead and get it, you will NOT be disappointed.

Nice image quality, but just a little slower than I expected.
Posted by Electrician on February 8, 2015
Lens takes very nice crispy photos. I use it on my D7100. Nice bokeh it´s a 1.8! For moving objects like a dog ,the focusing is a little slow. I like the lens a lot aside from that. It´s light and compact takes awesome photos.

Amazing for journalism photography
Posted by Yearbooker on January 24, 2015
I´m one of the photographers in my school´s yearbook program. This lens has been amazing every step of the way.
-First off, it is extremely lightweight which is awesome because I can focus on photography instead of struggling with camera shake like my friends who use the school´s huge canon zoom lenses
-Focus is very fast when in viewfinder mode.
-Photos are tack sharp
-Obviously, it´s very fast shutter speed due to aperture options
-However, there is a slight purple/magenta chromatic aberration in some pictures.
-very versatile, from portraits to basketball games
-cheap lens but still very good quality photos -

Huge Improvement over the Kit Lens
Posted by A 57 Photographer on December 27, 2014
I´ve been using the kit lens 18-55 for about a year and a half now so I decided that I´m ready to buy more lenses to expand my photography. This lens did not disappoint, super fast focusing, light and nimble, and most of all super sharp even in low light, would recommend to anyone upgrading from the Kit lens, for 250$ totally worth it

Excellent, Small, Low Light, and Sharp Every Day Lens
Posted by Scripps23 on November 2, 2014
This DX 35mm f/1.8 lens is an excellent value. Its resolution rivals that of FX lenses three times the cost. The image below was taken with a Nikon D40 camera body at a shutter speed of 1/125 of s second, an aperture of f/1.8, an ISO of 560, Auto White Balance, and Matrix Metering.

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!!
Posted by snapshot87 on September 30, 2014
Although this lens is a prime lens, it is very versatile ! If you are looking for a lens that is compact and can offer a little of everything this is the lens for you. It works beautifully as a macro lens capturing small details. But is tack sharp at longer focal lengths. This is one of my new favorites! I think for the price you really can´t go wrong. This is my 5th lens I have purchased from Nikon and its nothing short of amazing!!!

A must have lens for the DX format camera
Posted by dmorrow on September 24, 2014
If you have a DX format camera and do not have this lens you are missing out. Everything about this lens is fantastic. It is in my opinion the best value lens on the market as far as price vs performance goes. This lens is on my camera 90% of the time. It is my go to lens for portraits, street, candid and all around people photography. If you want to take your photography up a few notches from the kit lens you can not do any better for the money than this lens.

Nikon could Make It More Better
Posted by Irfan on August 27, 2014
I am using this lens from last 15 months. Initially I was happy with this lens when I bought my first DSLR because it was really sharp and having wide aperture f/1.8 . But after having some experiences about different aspects of quality photo e.g. distortion, chromatic aberration etc. of this lens started to disappoint me. This lens creates quite barrel distortion that I hate to see in the photo. Even 18-55mm kit lens can produce distortion free photo at 35mm. And this lens creates high chromatic aberration which I don´t like to have in the photo. On the other hand 50mm f/1.8G is better lens from every aspect. Now I have 50mm f/1.8G and I want to sell 35mm f/1.8 lens.

Incredible lens!
Posted by Photographer on August 10, 2014
I purchased this glass for use with my [new] Nikon D7100, and I was absolutely thrilled with the shots I achieved! It´s lightweight, inexpensive, and really fun to use, actually. It´s really great when you are shooting in low-light situations. I am enthralled by this lens; the magnificent clarity, the amazingly smooth bokeh, the astounding depth of field, and the solid feel and flawless performance. I would recommend this to any photographer; the beginner, the enthusiast, and the professional.
