Love this lens
Posted by picturefreak on May 3, 2014
Just received this in the mail a few days ago and am loving the pictures. You will definitely need to move a lot more because it doesn´t zoom at all. I have a lot to learn but so far so good!!!

Great lens for the entry level user and advanced users.
Posted by ClassicDigital on April 18, 2014
I bought this lens about two years ago. I first bought the 50mm 1.8G and loved using that lens for everything. However I wanted something wider. I looked for a while and was stuck between this lens and the older 35mm f2 AF-D.
At the time I wasn´t really into video so this lens fit the bill for my needs perfectly. I still use it today, this is one of the best lenses you can buy for a DX Nikon body. Its sharp, quick to focus and well built. Plus its price makes it a no brainer.
This lens will allow you cameras image sensor to really capture all the little details you´ve been missing out on. If you thought your camera took great pictures with the kit lens, then slap one of these on you camera and you´ll see an improvement in overall detail. Plus you´ll be able to better isolate your subjects since this lens has the ability to create a shallow depth of field, which allows people to concentrate on what you were trying to capture. Plus it adds a more pleasing look to your photographs.
On a DX body this lens has an equivalent field of view of 52.5mm which is good for portraits and general photography. This lens is great for both indoor and outdoor photography. You just have to keep in mind that you´ll be using your feet allot to ´´zoom in and out´´. But that´s what prime lenses are all about. Its adds in a bit of a challenge at times, and increases the ´´fun factor´´. I really love shooting with prime lenses.
This lens has served me well. It has taught me allot and I have gotten some great images with it. -

This lens will get 75% of the time on my d5100
Posted by shotsbysean on February 1, 2014
I had 3 lenses before this one. The kit lens (18-55) that came with the d5100, a 200mm sigma small telephoto and the manual 50MM nikon lens. I just got this one yesterday after extensive research on my next lens and I have to say I am dully impressed. I can tell instantly that the clarity and bokeh on this one is sweet. I can´t wait to test it some more!

Sharp as a tack
Posted by JimM on January 17, 2014
I love this lens -- very sharp, great for low light conditions, good Bokeh. Good lens for tight spaces. I used it on my old D90 and now on my D7100. This is my go-to lens for sharp pictures of people.

Stunning DX prime normal lens
Posted by Wasp on January 10, 2014
This is an excellent general purpose prime lens, which can be used for a wide range of photographic subjects, e.g. travel, full portraits, street photography, low light, etc. The len´s bokeh is really pleasing and it is optically very sharp. The lens is compact and robustly constructed, coming complete with a lens pouch and dedicated lens hood. A must for all DX camera users.

Sharp, Versatile and Easy to Use
Posted by OregonNikon on January 4, 2014
After reading loads of positive reviews about the 35mm/1.8, I bought it for a three day trip to Cannon Beach for New Year´s. Having used it for a week now, I can say I´ve been nothing but impressed by this little lens.
It has a solid feel, is fast, produces sharp photos in almost every situation. I´m an adventurer and look for lenses that are great for landscapes, portraits and general travel shots with my D7000, and this fits the bill perfectly.
If you are looking for an exceptionally sharp multi-purpose lens for under $200, you literally cannot beat the 35mm/1.8.
