Got these new,the third time I took off the one piece eye lens cover the eye cups came with them,there is a small ball baring in there,the size of the head of a pin,you can not get that back in,only found one anyway so It dosnt matter anyhow,and that one will not go back in.the eye cups came off way to easy,so now the eye cups just move on there own,won't stay in any position.i could box them up,mail back to have fixed,but why,isn't that why we buy Nikon products.i have see better quality out of a pair of $40 binocs at Walmart,I will never buy anything Nikon makes again! What happened Nikon you made quality stuff at one time.

Great optics.
Optics are clear and sharp. Because of magnification, astronomy viewing of stars should be done with tripod. Handheld makes objects shaky and with star trails. First night could see M13 (Hercules Cluster) easily.

Jury still out
I actually returned a pair of Vortex diamondback 10x42 for these. I wanted more power for where I hunt. In the store they seems very good and as of yet I have no problems. I probably would have given 5 stars but can't do so until I test them in the field.
