So good
Posted by Joshua Michaelson on May 23, 2023
Have loved this camera since it came out...and the firmware update that brought Eye Detection AF took it to a whole new level. Great feel in the hands. Beautiful resolution. All around 10/10 camera.

Great Mirrorless camera value for great Z lens pairings!
Posted by Michael Williamson on May 5, 2023
I'm a professional real estate/architectural tog. I use the Z 6 with the Z 14-30mm f4 S lens for the bulk of my work, but also use the Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S lens for details on those shoots. It works great in low light situations, and that's exactly why I bought it. Is focus perfect? No, but it produces many more "keepers" than my D7100 with f-mount lenses, did. It also works very well for wildlife when paired to my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens via the FTZ adapter. Got great shots of an Osprey plucking a Trout out of a river pond a few years ago. The biggest con I have with it, is the rolling shutter affect that it produces when panning with a fast moving sports object, or wildlife object. I've learned that shooting the subject moving towards me, works best. As such, I'm looking forward to the Z 8, as it will supposedly do away with shutter roll , like in the Z 9. We'll see. Great camera, even when using older classic lenses like my nifty fifty 1.4 my Opa gave me. The focus peaking makes it much easier to use and get great images with the Z 6. Highly recommend this version, or the newer Z 6 II.

A true workhorse & great camera for the price.
Posted by Altice on November 23, 2022
I built a six figure business on the back of this product. It's not as user friendly as the higher end products, but then its price is quite reasonable for what it is. Autofocus system is probably going to be the biggest hangup for most users. However, if you invest some time with the product, like with any tool, its pros and cons become a part of what is beautiful about your creations.I've since moved on to the Z9, but even when I do step back to the Z6 I'm always happy with the product it produces.

Can't Save Release Mode!

Love the camera, but very frustrating you can't save the release mode. I have to reset it every time I turn the camera on.

A Really Neat Camera
Posted by Touchdown on April 2, 2020
A great, practical camera. Good low light. Good 4k video . Stabilization works. Auto focus, I can not tell you ( so far, all my lenses are ai-s from the last century). The silent shutter is fantastic, I use it always (except with studio flash). The battery seams to last longer than on my D500 (another great camera). The Z6 will just keeps firing single shots until the chip is full. The image sensor seams easier to clean than a DSLR sensor stuck down in the mirror box. Less and more even thermal noise with the Z6 because the sensor is not down in a box. I only wish the exposure time went to 15 minutes, not 30 seconds, which should be easily addressed in a firmware upgrade. This is the best camera I have ever used. Buy It!

The best cameras Nikon has ever made
Posted by SeeRad on March 17, 2020
I´ve been a Nikon shooter since 1972. Cameras have to be judged in their time and against the competition. IMO, the Z6/Z7 and the S series lenses are presently the best of their kind and the best Nikon has ever produced.
There was a bit of a learning curve as I hadn´t upgraded in a long time, but the process was more, ´´wow, it can do that!´´ than anything difficult or discouraging. The frequent firmware upgrades have been great. I´m getting results, often under difficult lighting conditions, that I´ve never been able to get before. I have a good collection of older Nikkor lenses and was sold by the FTZ adapter, but the reality is the S series lenses are so good that I only mount an older lens for very specialized situations.
I´d love to say this camera is only for the experienced and would be wasted on a beginner, but its program modes let anybody get fantastic results right from the beginning. After that you can learn as much or as little as you like.
It was a huge leap of faith to abandon my beloved dSLR mindset, but after a few months with my Z6, it would be impossible to go back.
