Focusing with a ring flash is difficult to sustain when shooting vertical
Posted by paglioli on October 13, 2022
Lens is amazing. I need some help regarding the use of a Nissin ring flash. It is somehow heavier the the lens motor can handle, so focusing is very difficult to sustain when I have to shoot vertical, facing down. Any suggestion from Nikon?

Pairs Well with Nikon ES-2 Film Digitizing Adapter
Posted by Ken Chan on August 4, 2022
Purchased the Nikkor Z MC 50mm f/2.8 and the Nikon ES-2 Film Digitizing Adapter to digitize a collection of slides. While this pair works with the Nikon Z6 II, the documentation is completely lacking. Had to figure out the correct adapter since the documentation only covered F-mount lenses. Once I had the system set-up, I quickly scanned 5 dozen slides. The Z6 II was much faster and provided a higher resolution image than using a scanner at 2400 dpi.

Best utility lens I've ever owned
Posted by Alfred Benas on July 9, 2021
Pre-ordered the 50 and the 105, each for different reasons. Have only received the 50mm, which was intended for cramped space still-lifes and for the ES film copier. I tried it out on my z7 II and haven't been able to take it off. It turns out to be the best utility lens I've ever owned; it just works in most every situation. Did I say lightweight and comfortable?.

Superb Macro, excellent addition to the Z line!
Posted by Rikky Sanders on July 8, 2021
A great lens overall. Compact and a great focal length for walking around. The Macro ability (i.e. its specific design) is amazing. Tac sharp details with minimal (if any) chromatic aberration. Slight Vignetting (to be expected) but it adds to the composition in a good way. Focusing is fast. Well worth the money! Photo was shot with a Z6.

Nice fast 50 for day to day work, and a really nice macro to boot. Easy to use, too.

Versatile, Compact, Sharp!
Posted by Craig Cirelli on July 8, 2021
I pre-ordered this MC 50 the day it was announced, I've been looking forward to a native Z macro lens for quite a while. I went with the 50 over the 105 for it's smaller size, and its compatibility with the ES-2 adapter. I also didn't have a 50 prime before this, so it fills that gap. This lens is already exceeding my expectations. It's been on my Z6II full time since it arrived. So sharp, fast & quiet autofocus, and just really easy and comfortable to use. Manual focus with Focus Peaking really helps when shooting ultra close, and the focus limiter is ideal when using autofocus. Doubles as a fantastic portrait & street lens as well. This one is an easy must-have recommendation, really happy with it!
