I purchased mine from the wife of a friend. Took to Chicago Botanical Garden for orchid show. Still getting used to mirrorless, still got some great images

An amazing camera on all accounts. It did take a bit of getting used to, though. But what a great piece of technology!

No regrets buying the Z9 in December 2025

Posted by Warren Cockfield on January 21, 2026

I considered waiting for the mythical Z9 II rumored to be coming in 2026 but with the price reduction I went ahead and purchased the Z9 now and I have no regrets. I like it much better than my Z8…and I love my Z8, so the Z9 is my go-to now.

    Well built design and quality

Posted by Cash Cunningham on January 19, 2026

Great camera. I also own the Z8 but decided to have the Z9 as my second body. I appreciate the uni-body design with the larger battery. Ergonomics of the Z9 are awesome and I love that it takes two CF-Express cards. It performs quite well and feels very substantial in the hands. I can’t believe this is nearly a 5 year old design and technology. With the wonderful and meaningful firmware updates the Z9 will remain quite relevant for the foreseeable future. Kudos to Nikon for keeping the larger body for those of us prefer them.

Where Have You Been All My Life?

Posted by Gregg Heckler on January 6, 2026

I've finally retired one of my D3 bodies with over 350,000 clicks on it. My second one with 300,000 clicks is still going strong. This my first mirrorless body and I can't believe I waited this long. Everything about this camera is stunning, although it's taking me some time to learn and fine tune all of the auto-focus options. I would love for Nikon to publish a suggested Weddings/Events Settings. I still need to learn how to shoot video and I had to upgrade to 8 year old PC to handle the large file sizes and move to Windows 11. Other than that, the Z9 is a dream so far.

    Awesome technology ?

Posted by JACK CARDONE on December 10, 2025

I’m not a professional photographer. I started out with the Nikon D-500 and the D-850. This technology keeps you on your toes and I would never go back to DSLR. There’s a complicated learning curve and I think this learning curve will continue for many more years.I absolutely love this camera, and It keeps my brain sharp by trying to learn everything. I realize that’s probably impossible, but I’m really enjoying my retirement with the Z9. Thank you, NIKON.
