    The Nikon prostaff 5 12x50 are what you expect from this company as I have been using Nikon scopes, binoculars & cameras for 40 plus years and never had any problems they are a five star company. Thanks again Nikon for another great product.Greg

    If, and only if...

    These ifs mean the strange fact that the Prostaff 5 12x50s are not tripod-adaptable in the usual way. If you are tempted, as I was, to remove the circular cap between and in front of the barrels, it will need to be scratched up first, only to reveal a female thread that's not going to accept any typical 1/4"-20 adapter. So, anyway, I bought a universal binocular strap-type mount for under twenty bucks and that works fine, steadily aiming the clear and bright optical system one comes to expect from Nikon.
