The Z6III is a step up from the last version with improved autofocus and ergonomics. Solid build quality made my purchase that much better.

I bought the Z6III to upgrade my original Z6. It’s an excellent camera that perfectly complements my Z8 and Z9 cameras, especially for situations where I don’t need higher resolution but still want faster capture rates and smaller file sizes. The ergonomics are outstanding, and the autofocus, speed performance, and image rendering are all top-notch. I’m particularly pleased that the Z6III includes Wi-Fi STA mode - a feature I frequently use on my Z9 but is unfortunately missing from the Z8.

I feel like the Z6III combines all the best features of the latest Nikon bodies and puts them into the familiar Z6 body. I like to describe it as the ideal blend of the Z8 and Zf - with its high performance electronic & mechanical shutter, fully articulating display, and 24.5mp sensor. It's slightly larger than the Z6II, with added depth on the grip making this newer body even more comfortable to hold for longer shooting sessions and all-day outings. There's a lot to love about this camera, so I'll list some of my favorite features here. Starting with the new partially stacked sensor, this gives us the best of both worlds: a fully functional mechanical shutter paired with a fast electronic shutter that's more than capable of capturing action, with little to no rolling shutter effect. For ultra-fast moving subjects (helicopter blades for example), the mechanical shutter is always there if needed. But in my experience with the Z6III, I've only used the mechanical shutter when using flash / strobes for the faster sync speed. I also shoot a lot of low-light stage / performance events, with inconsistent and mixed lighting - the files I get from this sensor are gorgeous, even at higher ISO's they rarely need noise-reduction in post. Saves me a ton of time with higher-volume jobs.Other favorite features: The brighter, higher-res EVF. In-body 5-axis Focus Point VR, up to 8 stops. 6K / 60P Internal RAW video. Amazing subject detection (9 modes). The optional MB-N14 vertical grip. And just the overall handling / ergonomics and customization options, everything together provides a really versatile and intuitive experience. If I could change anything about the Z6III, I'd prefer it to have the Z8/9 style multi-tilt display. This is a very subject topic, but as a photo-first person that frequently shoots high and low angles, I really like having my rear display on-axis with the sensor for both vertical and horizontal shooting (to be fair, we at least have this for vertical with fully articulating screens). There are also some advantages to this type of display, like being able to turn it in / towards the body, for added protection when closed. And of course the versatility when shooting video.I hope someone finds this quick review helpful in some way. Nikon did a phenomenal job with the Z6III, it's an amazing all-around performer and a very solid upgrade to the Z6 line.

I had recently had spinal fusion surgery and was advised not to carry anything over 4 or 5 pounds. My Z9 with a lens was way too heavy. This camera is 1.5 pounds without a lens - so I could carrry it. Then there is the quality of the camera and the pictures I get from it. It has many of the features I have come accustomed to with my Z9 - 3D capture, lock onto the eyes of my subject and ‘track’ them as long as I partially depress the. shutter release. Bought a 28-400mm lens for it, the perfect pairing. Now that I am past recovery, my wife has latched onto the Z 6iii - and loves it. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Outstanding versatility and image quality (stills and video).

I am just beginning to learn about it. Works well in less light. Significantly improved picture quality over my old compact sensor camera with the same number of megapixels. The new compact flash express memory cards are more expensive than the old sd, but the write speed is significantly quicker and does not stall the burst mode. I did not shoot indefinitely but 3 seconds throws down a lot of pictures. It has a secondary SD slot. It acquires focus quickly in adequate light. I like to use the single point of focus indicator, but the knob on the back moves it inadvertently. The front adjustment dial is too close to the power button, and large fingers turn it off when dialing the aperture. I am disappointed it does not come with a charger. My 20-watt USB chargers work, but at a longer time than indicated in the manual. It comes with one battery and I bought two more because all brands and models with live display use batteries more quickly than the old flip-up mirrors DSLRs we were used to.

The Z6-3 is a superb all around camera. In my opinion, the few items that need inclusion or change are: 1) the mode dial "lock" pin is a hindrance to user rapid response; 2) the "enable bluetooth" selection is not available to the "I" menu nor to customize buttons; 3) insufficient locations to store last used settings. The list of great things is far far longer since this is a powerful versatile device for the enthusiast, is a camera that will make an interested photographer into an enthusiast, and will be the camera that deserves to be always with you.

The Z6lll has been an excellent camera for wildlife and landscape photography. The speed of the camera at 14 fps does a great job for action shots of birds and other wildlife. Eye detection is amazing not only for people but also animals. It does just as good detecting birds but there should have been a firmware update for bird detection, especially since the new Z50ll has that feature. The Z6lll is an amazing camera.
