Good but with no charm or character

Posted by Joshua Hollandsworth on January 2, 2026

It works as advertised but has no soul. Its clinical and uninspired but that's perfect for a tool. I dont find myself wanting to grab this camera to go with me. For some work I do, thats all I need. I don't like the flippy screen and really wished the sensor was higher resolution but its ok enough. I rather have the ZF but the Z6III had enough upgrades that the ZF felt like even worse of a downgrade from the Z7 II I already had.

Excellent low light focusing and fantastic IBIS

Posted by John Dyte on December 31, 2025

This a fantastic low light camera. The ability to focus in low light is why I bought this camera and it delivers. The enhanced IBIS pairs so well with the 24-120 F4 in so many situations. With many of the new smaller primes, it is so easy to hold.

    Fabulous camera!

Posted by Frederick Dressler on December 30, 2025

The Z6III is fabulous. That's the bottom line. My son has a Z8 and is a professional... While the Z6III isn't a Z8, he's also quite impressed with it. Let's see. The picture quality is outstanding as is the autofocus. Size and weight is better for me than the Z8 and obviously the Z9. I just like how the Z6III feels to carry and shoot. There's really nothing I don't like about it. It'll be a while, if ever, until I reach the limits of its capabilities.

    Big upgrade from the Z6ii

Posted by James Henderlite on December 29, 2025

This is a big upgrade from the Z6ii. I particularly like enhanced networking with Nikon Imaging Cloud. It provides full resolution uploads to my Google Photos and also supports updating the camera firmware. So far the pictures I've taken are really sharp. The YouTube videos on the new features of the camera are very helpful. So far it's a great camera and I'm looking forward to taking a lot of great pics with it.

Amazing speed and light sensitivity! My only wish is that it was 48 megapixel!

    Mirrorless: Just Do It

Posted by Stephen Doherty on December 25, 2025

I traded up from a D850 to a Z 6iii. Wow! I wondered what the mirrorless craze was all about. Now I know! I am blown away with the focusing technology and the exquisite new Nikkor glass. I am truly re-inspired to chase my photographic imagination to its fullest!

    Great low light camera

Posted by Donald Fullmer on December 25, 2025

Able to see what I am shooting in very low light. Wish I had it on a recent trip to Costa Rica when I was shooting blind with my D750. On a recent trip, I did not lose a bird due to camera picking up background vegetation.

    Awesome camera quite the Powerhouse

Posted by Mark Mark on December 24, 2025

I YouTubed this camera for a few weeks then pulled the trigger and bought it. I couldn't be happier. I have taken out every day since I had it and am super pleased at the Image quality and ease of use. I have a gotten a lot of help from the Nikon community as far as tutorials. I am coming from other camera systems. Making the move back to Nikon after a long hiatus. You will not go wrong with this camera.
