Stellar camera. Great for sports and action photography. Heavier than my Z8 but worth it for the battery life, especially when taking video or shooting stills using WiFi while shooting.

Phenomenal instrument.Absolutely incredible. Worth every penny and substantially cheaper than my D3x was when new. My most recent cameras are the D3x, Df, and D750, so the technology has changed substantially. The capabilities of the Z9 are light-years advanced from my most recent cameras and while I love all of my Nikon's going all the way back to the S series cameras, this one just amazes me. I still use most of my F-mount cameras going back to my F Photomic FTn. However, the Z9 just may have made the others obsolete. It will, however, take quite awhile to become as proficient (meaning to take advantage of all of it's capabilities) as I was with the F-mount cameras. I am enjoying the learning experience. I'm quite sure that I will soon be adding a suite of Z-mount lenses to my camera bag.

It is the flagship for a reason. Speed! High resolution! Picture quality! Love the many function buttons to customize for easy access and setup controls at your fingertips, no need to scroll through menus. Did I say I have two? I was a fan of the D3s and D850. The z9 is the best Nikon I have ever owned. If you are a serious photography, don't accept anything less. The z8 has some similarities but falls short of the z9 with ease of control.

Absolutely love the camera...it is without doubt the biggest advancement in camera technology since the advent of the first 35mm body. Anyone having any other view hasn't figured out how to tame this amazing beast!

Although I've owned my Z9 for less than one month, I can honestly say that it's the best camera that I've ever owned! The animal tracking features are exceptional! I'm quite sure as time goes forward, I will use the various other features on this great photography piece, so, I'm really excited and fortunate to own one!

Black people have always been a problem with color going all the way back to the d1x. I have the d5 d6 and now the z9, and hands over fist the best in regards to get the color of black people right. I usually have to add little of this or take a little of that to get that color right. but the colors were spot on. there are several other features I like. The face detection is nice as well as the quiet click. the no click is a little to scary but I love that you can adjust. Also I have al 2.8 lenses for my other Nikons but the f4 24-110 seems extremely sharp. so I am look ing at others as well.

After D70, D7100. D780, I sent info to Nikon what I wanted for mirrorless camera. Z9 came out and I studied it carefully and told my wife, I know I don't need it but I WANT IT!!! Wonderful to have BSI sensor for low light, better AF etc. This camera has many more than I thought and it is SO AWESOME even more on every FW. This FW 5.0 is so amazing with switching AF modes quickly on record button is the best for bird in flight!! I am grinning from ear to ear!!! I am using D780 for astrophotography and the rest for Z9!!! I would do it again without question! mmm should I get second Z9? mmm honey!???

Superb when it was released, the Z9 has been made even better by subsequent firmware updates which not only refined existing capabilities, but added important new ones. Superb image quality, even in high-ISO conditions is invaluable in both wildlife and concert photography, as is the brilliant autofocus system with dedicated modes for a variety of subjects.I cannot recommend the Z9 highly enough.
