I got this about 4 days ago, and got a chance to try it out on some landscape, and it works great. I bought it to try for wildlife, and as a companion to my Z 6, will have to wait and see.

I´ve been a mirrorless photographer for a number of years. I got a Z 7 as soon as it came out and appreciated the more compact form factor compared to a D810 or D750, but was still looking for the compact size and light weight for travel that I enjoyed with micro 4/3rds cameras. When the Z 50 came out I grabbed one early and have not been disappointed. I just got back from a cross country trip for work and the Z 50 did just what I wanted. It´s pocketable in my winter coat, took great 4K video of the demonstration we witnessed, and was an enjoyable travel stills camera. The two DX lenses cover the range I need and it works with all my Z full frame lenses too. Very pleased with the eye auto focus.

The new Nikon Z 50 is a truly amazing camera. It´s size, and the size of the two new Nikon Z DX lenses, are extremely small and light weight. But in spite of this DX system´s economy of size, it yields photographic results that are as good as the larger and heavier Nikon mirrorless cameras. Not only does this new camera possess full functionality, it also has a built in flash that works perfectly. Images straight out of the camera are excellent due to the new architecture of the Nikon Z system. Sharpness and contrast are great. Color is also terrific, including skin tones. This is one of the few products that exceeds the quality expressed by its own advertisements.
