    Worth the wait

    Outstanding optics and great weight for the size lens. Haven’t had a macro for years and this lens feels great hand held or on a tripod. The wait was worth it!

    Very sharp!

    Very sharp! Compared to my F-mount macro, this one is sharper and brighter. I love the programmable button I use to switch from FX to DX mode, and also the ring that I use to adjust the aperture. It is close in weight to the F-mount version, but I don't have to use the FTZ adapter which is nice!

    Still testing it out under various situations but my first impression is it's the sharpest Macro yet that I've used. I love it and I love the potential that this lens provides, great job Nikon.

    Amazing Beyond Comparisons

    Ever trusting lens ! The capabilities of this beast are beyond ! I am a portrait photographer and i find myself using this lens ...all the time. It is so crisp so sharp so beautiful . Why go 50mm why go 85mm....when you can go 105mm and macro ! Works amazing in low light ..eye focus on point .. bokeh creamy backgrounds superb. If you are gonna spend money for the 85.. might as well go big. Unless you are working in a tighter space..and you really want f1.8 or 1.4 or 1.2 ... if 2.8 and space are not a problem for you...this IS your lens !

    I am new to macro photography and did quite a bit of research before making the purchase. So far, it has exceeded my expectations. Good for portraits and other creative photography. I am not a professional photographer, rather someone who likes to take pictures.

    Ever since my new 105mm lens arrived I've been out shooting every single day. It's exciting to capture the macro shots I've always wanted to get. This lens gives me the confidence I needed to be creative again. Photography is just a hobby for this 71 year old, but I'm getting photos that look almost professional.

    I’m a long time user of the 105mm lens but in D-SLR format. This new Zed lens is excellent. Bright, sharp, lightweight. Couldn’t ask for much more except a lower price.
