Excellent, but makes aperture rings useless…
Posted by Jeremiah Hair on March 21, 2026
Functionally great, but really wish there would be an option (built into the firmware?) where I could change the aperture through the aperture control ring on lenses where that would be possible. It would make this adapter more useful for video, etc. Otherwise, functions perfectly.

Great option while switching to Mirrorless.

The FTZ II has been great to use. I had several F mount lenses and it’s been nice being able to use them with my D850 and the Z8.

Works fine but expensive
Posted by Stephen King on February 26, 2026
Works as advertised, allowing use of my f series lenses on my new Z body with only the added size and bulk as a negative. Especially when I use the FTZ II adaptor with a teleconverter on my 70-200 f2.8! Dinged it one star because it is very expensive for what it is.

I have only used it with Nikkor lens. It works great with them. Lens function the same on my Z5 ii & D5500.

Super Sharp
Posted by GLENN LANCASTER on February 10, 2026
As a long time Nikkor lens user I couldn't give up my F mount lenses when I bought a Nikon Z 6-II, so I bought the FTZ II adapter. I have a sizable collection of Nikkor lenses (11) of which four are prime lenses; 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm. My go-to lens is the Nifety Fifty. The attached photo is a photo showing how sharp the test pattern is. All the auto focus functions behave as advertised and the FX/DX frame crop is not compromised due to the increased adapter length. Overall this is well worth the purchase to save your F mount lenses.

Maintains accurate autofocus with my DZ lenses.

The adapter works as described. Works with the Nikon DX lenses. Maintains autofocus on the lenses I have tested.

Cost-effective options as you transition to Z cameras.
Posted by Robert Figuerado on January 10, 2026
The FTZ II made my decision to go with the Z8 much easier and cost-effective. Being able to continue using my F Mount lens as I transitioned to the Z8 and the Z lenses was a huge factor in my decision to buy the Z8 now. Using F Mount with the FTZ II on my Z8 has been seamless. I have not had any issues at all with any of my F Mount lenses.

FTZ Adaptor
Posted by Larry Szycher on January 8, 2026
Nothing can be done with its size, it has to maintain the correct lens to sensor distance. It allows me to use some of my f mount lenses and autofocus, but others are manual focus now. I’m keeping a dslr body, rather than trading in these lenses. It’s better than trading them in for very little return. Bottom line is I’m buy very few new Z lenses, maybe just get one all around lense for what I shoot. (24-120 f4). I don’t want to lose my investment again in what has become a very expensive transition.

Converter allowed me to keep my F mount lenses from my D750 to use until I have to replace them with Z mounts. Easy to install, and I have not noticed any performance issues.
