Converter allowed me to keep my F mount lenses from my D750 to use until I have to replace them with Z mounts. Easy to install, and I have not noticed any performance issues.

    Upgrading from F-mount to Z-mount

Posted by TRACY DEAN on January 2, 2026

With the release of the Z6III, I finally decided to add the Z-mount camera to my inventory. I'm heavily invested in the F-mount system. So, adding the FTZ II adapter to my Z6III made the upgrade easier on the wallet. As far as I can tell, the lenses attached to the FTZ II works just as well on my Z6III as they do attached to my D850. Obviously, there is no degredation in image quality since it's just a spacer. It's nice konwing I don't have to spend a fortune to go out and replace all my F-mount lenses with Z-mount lenses especially since i don't intend to get rid of my F-mount. This is an addition and a new option to what I already have. If you're upgrading or you just want to save money on some F-mount glass, this adapter is the way to go.

The Adapter That Made the Mirrorless Transition Possible

Posted by WILLIAM MCGRATH on January 2, 2026

I've been collecting Nikon glass since the days of my F100. Since then, I've had a D70, a D200, and a D800. One of the beauties of the Nikon system has been its support for older lenses, so, as I moved up through the DSLR line, I didn't have to rebuy the optics. I bought FX lenses even when I was shooting a DX camera, knowing I'd eventually go with a full-sized sensor. As the mirrorless cameras overtook the SLRs, I sat on the sidelines because of the possibility of incompatibility. With the FTX adapter on my Z8, I could migrate to the new technology painlessly. I might buy a couple of Z lenses in the configurations I use the most, but I don't lose all that investment in F-mount glass. This made the switchover economically viable, so here I am.

    Worth the Expense

This little converter allowed me to keep my favorite F mount lenses from my DSLR to use until I can afford to replace them with Z mounts.

Too much resistance when mounting on F lens

Posted by Donald on June 3, 2025

It feels very very tight when mounting all my F lens on it, 58mm/1.4G, 20mm/f1.8G, 105mm/f2.8 etc. The resistance is just too strong, and not feeling right to me. Is it like this just for my copy? or anyone else also have the same observation?
