    great feature, also great protection!

    Just the right amount of protection from unwanted light in all ranges of Zoom with the 200-500 Nikkor zoom lens. the bayonet hood also (Although not a recommended feature) saved my lens when it was
    knocked from my hands and landed on the pavement, the hood saved the lens from damage at the cost
    of the bayonet mount. a dab of Gaffer´s tape kept me shooting the rest of the day!
