ES-1 Slide Copying Adapter
Posted by john L on July 25, 2022
This little thing gave me some fun results immediately. I use mine with a 55mm f2.8 macro with PN-11 extension tube attached to my FTZ on my Z5. the PN-11 can rotate for portrait or landscape mode without that change required in software. Very useful little doodad!

Easier/better than a scanner!
Posted by Carole on March 23, 2019
First: I use the ES-1 on the Nikon 40mm f/2.8 micro. It attaches directly to the lens as both have 52mm size threads...so no adapter is needed to make it fit. I use a DX camera for this...the D5600 works great and so does the D7500. Other DX cameras with this particular lens will work too. For light I use a 5000K 8.5x11 light panel placed about 6-8 inches behind the slide copier, then I set the camera on a table and use a remote to trigger the shutter. This setup is ridiculously easy, very fast to do each slide, and is a gazillion times better than trying to scan old slideswhich was so time-consuming I hated doing it at all and gave up digitizing my hundreds of slides until I discovered the ES-1. If you have a lot of slides to scan, this is a fabulous solution.
Note: All the descriptions for this ES-1 mention the 60mm micro and an older 55mm micro. These are for FULL FRAME cameras. There is never any mention of the 40mm micro on a DX camera...which is a perfect combination since it is very direct and simpleattach the ES-1 to the 40mm lens (both have 52mm threads), attach the lens to a DX camera, have a light source, best to use a remote trigger, and start copying slides! Quick and easy. -

This works perfectly!
Posted by RoscoeAndRick on August 26, 2014
I purchased this adapter to copy slides and negatives using a Nikon D800E. I use a Micro Nikkor 60 mm f 2.8 lens and a Nikon BR-5 mount adapter ring. It works perfectly. Some people complain that the copy adapter rotates, I use a thick rubber band to hold it in place. Plus the rubber band allows some easy adjustment if needed. My next step is to design and build a 35mm film adapter I can slide in place and copy film with.
