    The best of the best

    Posted by Daspeed07 on September 30, 2025

For me, it was a no-brainer. I am a photographer so I had a choice get the best DSLR ever made at a phenomenal price or buying into new technology that is changing as fast as new cell phones. The 850 gives me more than what I need Feels good in your hand looks great through the view finder and give you results that are impeccable. You get the better DSLR…nuff said!

    D850 and more

Posted by Craig H. on September 28, 2025

I started out buying the three trinity lenses in f2.8 before I bought the camera. I was waiting for the Z9 to come out but at the time, I didn't think I was going to get it or the D850 so I bought the D500, Shortly there after, the D850 was finally available. I am very happy with both. The D850 is my primary and I love how it and the MB-D18 fill my hand. The abilities it affords me, to take great pictures is fantastic. I use it for people and landscapes mostly and the D500 for wildlife. I've purchased the 300 f/4 PF ED and the 200-500mm F/5.6E which I use on the D500 along with the TC-14E III when I want to reach out further. I'm not able to afford the really expensive large primes in the 500-600 range or the 180-400 F4, but if I ever trip over a lottery, I will.

The D850 is an incredible DSLR, but since I bought a refurbished unit, it didn’t come with the original box. That’s a bit disappointing.

    Awesome camera!

This is my second D850. I sold my D500 (also a terrific camera) so I could have two full frame bodies. Looking forward to more great shots.

Great camera. The manual needs directions on how to transfer files into the computer.

I sold my old Sony a55 and bought the D850. What a camera! especially in manual mode. I love the camera.

    Best Nikon camera made!

Posted by Phoenix P. on August 4, 2025

This is the best Nikon camera I have ever owned!! Of all my digital and film cameras this is the bomb! I sold my Z6 and accessories to go to the D850 and I’m so glad I did! The color processing and image quality is remarkable. I bought a series of older Nikon glass including the 24-70, 80-200, 80-40, 16-35, and the 105 Micro. The camera has the ability to fine tune each of the lenses, and remember the fine tweak that it did to each lens. The images are awesome!!!

    Prefer DSLR Hands Down!

Posted by Ed A. on July 20, 2025

Just purchased my new D850...I traded in my D750, which was a very good camera. But the D850 is a true workhorse! I am a long time Nikon user...I've had many different kinds, FE2, D90, F100...and I still have a FM2 and an F3T. Going to an mirrorless wasn't an option for me; I have several different F mount lens and I didn't want to use an adapter; plus I prefer the feel, image quality and workings of the DSLR. It's going to be a blast to get to know and use the D850!

Old guy with a new yoy

Posted by Old Fan on July 13, 2025

I recently acquired my D850 I I have been a fan of Nikon cameras for years. My 1st Nikon was an F! Photomic FTN. I purchased a D60 before my D850, I love Nikon cameras and my D850 exceeds all my expectations. I am still learning all the things this camera can do. I love the fact that I can still use the lenses that I have from my F1. I have upgraded to new lenses and they have grown in their automated features. Just love it so far and when my grandkids get to learn about cameras they will love it also.
