    Fantastic piece of machinery

    Posted by Acuratl2010.nf on January 11, 2018

Amazing pictures with geat detail.. We recently vacationed in Italy with Venice as a starting point. Took various pictures of canals and the famous Rialto Bridge. Once i reviewed the pictures at home, I was amazed. Blowing up or croping the pictuers at 100%, I was blown away by the great details in the images. You can crop at 100% and print pictures with incredible details. I could clearly see the sand grains in the cement joints between the bricks. If price is of no concern, this camera is hard to beat.

    An amazing camera

Posted by Bruce H on December 18, 2017

I´m very impressed. This camera is a jack of all trades and it does them all extremely well. I have to admit I wasn´t sold on the touch screen for a pro, but boy does it come in handy. The same can be said about the tilt screen! I am used to Nikon Flagship bodies and though this camera ´´technically´´ isn´t classified as a flagship, it for all intense and purposes is...and the body feels fantastic in the hand. Once my grip comes in it´ll be a fantastic pairing with my D4s!

    Beyond Expectation

Posted by Dr Bearwash on November 14, 2017

Arriving just in time for a polar bear shoot and with no time to familiarize myself with it, the D850 exceeded all of my expectations. Crisp clear images with near immediate focus on par with my D500 and D5. The extra pixels were appreciated and will allow me to print my images in near life-size dimensions. The features were intuitive and appreciated. The adjustable view screen came in handy when shooting over the heads of other photographers allowing me to get a better angle on the shot without having to guess what I was actually capturing. The customizable buttons came in handy to keep my cameras simple to use as they are all set up the same. Best of all the despite the size of the files this camera is fast at 9 frames a second with the En El 18b I didn´t miss a thing.

Greater than the sum of its parts

Posted by WiltonPhotography on October 17, 2017

This camera has an amazing feature set, but it´s really the combination of subtle changes and new features that make it so good. It just works-- in every situation I´ve tried it (about 8000 frames of wedding, lifestyle and studio work so far). Controls are right where you want them. The color, dynamic range and resolution are absolutely wonderful. The AF is a dream come true, not only for speed and accuracy but also its ability to find focus most of the time in extreme darkness. The touch screen lets you shoot from even the most awkward positions. The silent electronic shutter occasionally gets me shots I otherwise couldn´t. The buffer never fills up under normal shooting (buy the fastest cards you can). Without a battery grip it´s fast enough for anything but sports and other really speed-centric activities. If you´re someone who shoots multiple disciplines or under a wide range of conditions, this is definitely the camera you want. If you´re a specialist, there is a good chance this is still the camera for you. It´s that good.

My only real complaint isn´t with the camera. It´s with SnapBridge. Lots of room for improvement there.

But this is a seriously good camera. Incredible on paper but even better in actual use.

    Superb Resolution

    Posted by Scripps23 on September 27, 2017

This camera´s resolution is outstanding. The increased resolution over the Nikon D800 warrants this camera for my wide format printer needs. Other functions, such as ´´focus stacking,´´ add to the value of the camera.

    As good as it gets!

Posted by Magazine Photojournalist on September 26, 2017

I received my D850 on September 7th. Since then I´ve shot over 7000 exposures, on dozens of professional assignments. While shooting side by side with my D810s, the transition has been seamless and yet, the new camera´s handling is far superior. As great as the D810 still is, the D850 is solidly better in comparison. It´s expensive, but it´s performance is stellar. Thank you Nikon!

    In Awe.

Posted by Medat on September 23, 2017

I was always under the assumption that my D800e had it all for my class of photography and was therefore that much which I required. I followed the advent of the D850 and the ´hoopla´ surrounding it and though hesitant to take the plunge, got really intrigued and did. ´Wow´ is but an understatement as Nikon has delivered an honest to goodness well thought out and intuitive device. The touch screen among other notable updates is going to pay dividends. While I am well versed with Nikon cameras, every new model throws a curve ball at you and the D850 is no exception. A few of the control buttons have been moved around to accommodate additions (I button, sub selector and FN2) but familiarization will quickly dispel navigational concerns. Though I have not yet received the MB-D18 grip, i´m somewhat disappointed that the battery differs from that in the body. Whatever happened to provisioning a BS-1 (hot shoe cover) to protect from unwanted dust and grime particles? Regardless, a new love affair has begun and i´m all pumped for it.

    Everything I expected

Posted by Cramer on September 10, 2017

I needed a DSLR that captures 4k, slow motion and great still images. That is exactly what I got. The user interface is superb as well.
