    Absolute game game changer!

Posted by ArtAbandoned on June 21, 2018

I have been photographing a lot of concerts over the past year, and up until recently I was using a D7200 and a D800. Someone suggested I drop the 7200 for concerts, and use only the D800. The piuctures were a metric ton better! Then I started reading the comparisons of the D850 to even the D800, and when I had the opportunity to get one I did. The comparrison between the D800 and the D850 is in my opinion beyond words! The shutter is so much smoother, and quiet, at least to me! The burst action I get with the D850 is far superior to anything else I have used! When I am photographing concerts, mostly Rock or varies forms of heavy metal, I cannot wait for a certain lighting or the bands to slow down! This camera has taken my shots from good to really good to where the bands are just speechless! The only con to it that I have found is the that there is only 1x SD slot and the XQD slot. The XQD cards and readers are not cheap! No where near me carries them and or refuses to do so. I will hopefully be able to get another D850 in another year or so. It is as the title indicates, for me it is an absolute game changer in pictures!

    D850: Delivers as advertised

Posted by NikonHobbyist on June 20, 2018

I´ve been using Nikon film cameras since the late 1970s, and digital cameras since the mid 2000s -- and the D850 does not disappoint! Most importantly, it handles my 30-40 year old prime and macro lenses like my old F2AS, and is spot on with the more modern features and AF-S/AF-P series autofocus lenses. I use the D850 primarily for nature, macro and wildlife photography, but also shoot in low light (time lapse, theater, concerts, etc), as well as some portraiture and sports. Regardless of the setting, the D850 performs at or above expectations.

I print large format pictures, and do custom matting and framing. Although I always attempt to ´´get it right in the camera´´, with the D850 I am able to crop, and pull detail out of the shadows -- and still print with amazing sharpness at virtually any custom frame-able size.

I am a profesional fitness and physique photographer. I shoot competitions and athletes throughout the USA and Canada. The D850 is that camera I´ve been waiting for, fast focusing, amazing color rendition and an ISO range that enables me to shoot before sunrise and create magical images.

    Everything I Expected And More

Posted by NikonKauai on June 19, 2018

Very satisfied with my D850. This is a definite step up from my D800. My go to lens is my Nikon 24-120 f4 and I could not be happier. Sharp landscapes. Great sports photography. Low light capabilities are amazing.

    Very nice camera

Posted by eneiasr on June 19, 2018

I had the D800, D810, but as it happened a small accident with my D800 was to buy another D810 which is a great camera and I love working with it. So seeing the Nikon rumors saw that the D850 came in I decided to wait to buy. It was worth waiting for because when I bought it and started working with it it exceeded my expectations. I really like this camera and I recommend upgrading to those who have a lower range camera and who have jobs that can cover the investment. Her focus, the shooting raipez, the wireless and bluethood in addition to several other new features are the best. I had already worked with the D5 and this camera leaves nothing to be desired compared to the D5. Thank you very much Nikon for this gift you gave us.

Love my new D850; a really great camera. Use the 24 - 120 lens on it primarily. It is a real workhorse.
Will be taking it to Alaska later this summer to photograph wildlife!!

    Significant step up from D810

Posted by Blueheron on June 18, 2018

I love this camera. i shoot everything from landscape to portrait to wildlife but my primary focus is shooting raptors and birds. I used to use my D7200 for my bird shots but this camera´s incredible focus acquisition and the ability to shoot group has made it a ´´goto´´ camera for all purposes. I think that the greatest benefit is the ability to significantly crop and still have something great and usable left over. That is the real world, not every shot is perfect and if I can save something that would have been marginal before, all the better. Pairs beautifully with my nikkor 400mm 2.8 e fl.

    AMAZING

Posted by TerEss on June 18, 2018

The best review I can give, is that I now own two D850 cameras. What an amazing piece of equipment. The D850 captures details and subtle colors that I hadn´t noticed until I enlarged the images.
