I´ve had my D850 about 5-months now...and am still being impressed with it´s low light capabilities and it´s extreme sharpness in landscapes. Gym lighting is not a problem! Re-discovering all my Nikkor primes ...again!

My relation with the brand started with a Nikkormat (still in good use) I jumped into a F90 in the ´90s, and now I got a D850. I feel like I´m living in an evolution timeline chart, where I can testify, according with my experience, how everything has changed. Measuring the light was always a concern for me, but using the new technology looks like a constant re-definition of the typical problems, I mean, If I was surprised with the f90´s five area sensor, today I can´t even shut my mouth after playing with the amazing HDR (High Dynamic Range) possibilities. I wonder what would have been the Ansel Adams opinion, and how this feature would have helped him with the zone system.

Absolutely the best camera out there. Details that are brought out in shots are amazing.

I have owned Nikon cameras for over 50 years. D850 I have had for 6 months and it is a fantastic camera. My last Nikon was a D700 which I have had for 9 years. Still learning all the great features of the D850!!
Keep up the great cameras - Nikon!

Replaced my D600 with the D850, even though file storage is an issue
I´ve never been more impressed with a Nikon product. I find the image
quality is excellent the quality of high ISO photo very good and it metering
and color excellent.
I use this camera mostly for architecture so frame rate speed is not an issue.
There seems to be a lot of you tube videos out on it for help issues I have,
but it would be really nice if Nikon would add a DVD to the camera describing
and showing samples of the function of the camera from Active D-Lighting,
Multiple Exposure, Flicker reduction etc
Oh well I guess I´ll YouTube it. One can call nikon´s 800 number and have
an operator look issues up. Most of the time I find they are fishing like myself
for the answer, but they more direct resources.

Every now and then, something comes along that causes us to expand and grow. I have been a professional Nikon user for over 30 years. Our full-time portrait/wedding studio has photographed over 1,000 weddings. I have owned numerous Nikon film bodies; as well as, a Hasselblad film camera system. I have owned multiple digital bodies including the D2x, D300´s, D600, D700´s, D3s.
All that to say, nothing I have used to date has been as pleasing to use as the D850. This camera challenges me as a photographer. The image quality is unbelievable. The features go well past my normal skill set. I have actually had to read the manual on some features (I never read manuals). This camera is the single best piece of photographic equipment that I have ever been able to work with. In fact, one con might be that it is too much resolution (the file sizes are huge) for most of my portrait and wedding work as they can simply can be done with lower resolution. But now I have a tool that goes beyond ´´normal´´ and expands my business product offerings. The build quality is outstanding. I just can´t imagine what Nikon will follow this camera up with.

The D850 is a Giant leap forward of the D810. The build quality is better, it has the ´´feel´´ of a well made product. In addition the combination of the improved grip and the new location of the ISO button (on the Grip) allow one to keep the eye on the targeted subject. The XQD card slot is a gigantic improvement performance over the CF card, especially with the increase in megapixels over the D810
The sensor allows the photographer to feel comfortable in a broad range of light conditions and subject areas, from landscapes to sports, portraits to macro with confidence.
And let us not forget the tilting monitor that makes it easier to get those high and low shots and the convenience of illuminating the buttons.
The image quality is stunning! You can´t put this camera down, it´s fun!
The results a camera that can be used in a wide range of
