Even a 5 year old can work it.

    Posted by 92corvette on June 18, 2018

The 850 is a very unique product in that it can assist you with many different facets of shooting subjects both in term of focus but also lighting. I was on a day trip with my son´s youngest. a 5 year old and handed him the camera. He was able to easily align the view through the finder and take a wonderful photo of his mother,

Had to wait for a while to get my D850. Well worth the wait. Great addition to my equipment bag.

This camera will be hard to top

    Posted by BillT80 on June 18, 2018

Great in low light and I love the tilt touchscreen for working with low camera positions. The focusing and metering is great in all lighting situations. It also makes focusing with some of my old manual lens, very easy. This camera will be hard to top.

A very high end prosumer camera

Posted by rrwells on June 18, 2018

The camera performed exceptionally well in all circumstances so far. Be prepared to spend several weeks learning all of its capabilities and idiosyncrasies. The very large number of available auto focus modes and exposure modes can be confusing. Even if you are an experienced Nikon photographer. But the increased resolution (and therefore, the ability to crop without losing visible resolution) makes the camera easy to use.
However, it is heavy and may not be usable with all your accessories. For example, I had a five year old third party flash unit which could only operated in the manual mode. Purchasing a third party flash solved that problem and all modes were available.

My second DSLR after the D810

Posted by AlbieW on June 18, 2018

I went from a Nikon FE2 film camera unused in the drawer for about 10 years to a D810 for 2 years then to my D850. I´m so glad I did. All my original lenses still work plus I added some more. No regrets. It will do anything I want it to do... I just learned it has the capability built in for taking a focus stacking sequence! I have taken videos of events in my family´s life and really enjoy wildlife photography. Just buy one for yourself! Sample bird photo taken with the 200-500 mm zoom; buy that too!

    An amazing Camera

Posted by gsphotoguy on June 18, 2018

The D850 meets or exceeds all of the pre-release hype. It is a huge leap from my old D600 and provides me with tools that make the work I do easier and better.

NikonD850 - More than I expected in every way

    Posted by Follow4legs on June 18, 2018

The D850 is more than I expected in a new camera body - the image quality especially in low light is clean and sharp, the high definition video is good enough to edit with footage shot on high end video cameras. The slow motion video function is amazing. And the ease of downloading to my ipad to review on site with clients - or send low resolution versions to their email or messenger accounts is a time saver in all ways. I had an opportunity to use the adjustable viewer this winter while videotaping a foal being born -- on my old camera I would have had to lie down in the straw bedding to get the the best angle for capturing the labor, birth and first moments of life. With the adjustable viewer, I could look down at the screen and lower the camera to the mare and foal together, and be able to move around more easily.
I also upgraded my flash to a SB5000, and with the camera´s better low light capabilities, and the flashes additional coverage and rapid refresh rate I´ve been very happy working indoors in the winter months when the available light is non-existent.

    D850 Awesome Purchase!

Posted by JakeJacobs on June 18, 2018

I have been a long time Nikon Shooter and the D850 is a Giant leap forward, the build quality is great, the resolution, the look, the feel and performance I feel is second to none! I could not be more please with the purchase/investment, so much so I have purchase a 2nd D850 as well as a pair of MB-D18´s as well.

This by far, as for camera´s is my most favorite investments. Over the years, I have own bodies such as the D200, D2xs, D300, D3, D700 D3x and now a pair of the D850´s and I cannot keep them out of my hands. Nikon did not just hit a Home Run with me, it was a Grand Slam! I find the image quality is excellent the quality of high ISO is very good and it metering and color excellent. So far I have no improvements to recommend, I think the camera is just that Good!
