    The finest available !!

Posted by TERKAT on November 8, 2019

It´s very simple - the D850 represents the absolute culmination of 100 years of outstanding Nikon R/D and field experience. As many are saying - it really is the best DSLR of all time. I have been a Nikonian since the early 1970´s and have had, literally, all the Nikons in my shooting armamentarium at one time or another - Photomic FTN up to the D5 (and everything in between) and I agree that the D850 is the BEST. Back to the studio.

    Great camera

I have been very pleased with the D850. In the past three weeks I have shot two car shows with amazing results. It is easy to use and the clarity is fantastic. I would recommend the D850 to anyone serious about photography.

Changed My Photography For the Better

Posted by LoneStarAir on October 11, 2019

I came from a crop body D7200 (that I´ll also never part with) and this has far exceeded my expectations. The layout of the camera, the incredible resolution, and most importantly, the autofocus. The latter being unsurprising when you realize the D850 has the same autofocus system and dedicated processor as the D5.

Love all the features of this beast of a camera. All what it offers is great to match your needs. I use it mainly for stills. All arena of photography is covered with this camera. Built quality superior and battery life is good. Buffer and using two fast memory card is brilliant. Regarding cons none. Highly recommended.

    Great Camera But Not Ergonomic

Posted by MacLover on September 10, 2019

The layout of the focus and metering mode buttons was much more ergonomic on the D700. I need to quickly glance at and change these two settings along with ISO and bracketing while shooting. The bracketing button is hard to reach when using a Vello wireless remote shutter release. The Auto Focus Mode button and Focus-Mode Selector are ridiculously awkward to try and find, even with my skinny fingers. Move the focus mode, metering mode, and bracketing buttons to the back of the camera to make them instantly viewable and faster to change. Replace the Fn2 button with one of these as this button is worthless with the limited options available in the menu. It could be put to better use with another function button.

    Nikon D850

    Posted by OFDLT1 on August 26, 2019

As a long term Nikon owner (1974) I was sitting on the fence on the new D850. I owned at the time a D4 and D5 (D4 has been sold) so I was torn to go mirrorless (Z7) or stay with a DSLR and upgrade to the D850. After countless articles and comparisons I bought a new D850. Out of the box it is great and a solid camera. Initial images are crazy sharp and clean ( I use all Nikon glass ). So why did I give it only 4 stars instead of 5. Simple, after 2 months of use I have not gotten deep enough into the camera or used it to give what I consider an honest opinion. I shoot wildlife and plan on 3 weeks in Yosemite and then off to Zion and Bryce Canyon. I think after I put it through the paces there and have enough hands on time and exposure to shooting different lighting scenarios and conditions I feel confident it will be 5 stars.
