There is a lot more to this camera that i am used to and i am so in love with it though, im still reading through the manual to get to know the camera as i have only used my phone and a very small starter camera. just wonderful, beautiful, and it has good weight to it

I purchased the D7500 package that included a nice 18-55mm lens and a 70-300 telephoto lens, plus a very nice camera bag. I have been very happy with the camera and lens combo. I haven´t had a nice camera since the 35mm film days. I have been using my phone and simple point and shoot cameras exclusively. This camera takes great pictures and is fairly easy to use. It probably has way more features than I will ever use, but it´s nice to know they are there if I need them. I would definitely recommend this package.

I upgraded from the Nikon D5100 to the Nikon D7500. There are some differences between the two cameras. I am not overly fond that I cannot turn the articulating screen around and cover it as I can with the D5100. I think it helps protect the screen. In order to make videos, you need to use the switch on the back of the camera to go from camera to video camera. It is a good idea when you think about it. If you accidentally hit the red button, it will not take videos. It just takes getting used to. Neither of the lenses that came with the camera have a manual/auto focus switch. You have to switch from manual to auto on the camera body. Again, not a big deal, I just have to get used to it. The same is true for VR, no switch on the lens, it is in the menu.
There is a ton of features I really like about the D7500. I can get better pictures at a higher ISO, a huge advantage in low light conditions. I was not satisfied with the interval timer shooting on the D5100. I bought an intervelometer to use shooting star trails. I don´t need the intervelometer to shoot star trails with the much improved on camera interval timing settings on the D7500. Now the intervelometer acts as a cable release. The D7500 has two user customized settings. One of first thing I did was set U1 for HDR shooting. (Settings from a You Tube video, not the on camera HDR.) I shoot landscapes on a regular basis. The viewfinder grid display is worth its weight in gold to me to allow me to keep my horizons level. No more using the level tool in Photoshop to straighten a horizon or tilted buildings.
Several reviews I read prior to deciding on the camera said the D7500 does not have a hand grip and spare battery and it only has one card slot. In both cases I personally don´t care. I have never had either of these features on my cameras. It is hard to miss what I never had. I simply carry a spare battery and spare memory cards as I always have. Problem solved.
I have only had the camera a month. I am still exploring all the features available on this camera. I do recommend buying a book such as Nikon D7500 Experience by Douglas Klostermann. The book makes it so much easier to understand the settings and features of the camera than by just reading the manual. That doesn´t mean you should not read the manual. You should. I have been a long time Nikon user. There are some things that have not changed from one camera to the next. BUT there are differences. Particularly where the buttons etc. are located on the camera. I don´t need to be fumbling trying to change a setting in a fast moving or low light situation.
Overall, the D7500 is a versatile well made camera that I plan to take full advantage of.

The D7500 is a great camera. I came from a D5200, which was my first DSLR. I had not used an SLR camera in many years and made due with point and shoot cameras. The D5200 provided a nice reintroduction to photography for me. I did however want more features and better low light performance as time went on.

I already purchased a 16-80mm NIKKOR 2.8 - 4E lens for my D5200. This lens seemed to breath new life into that camera. I finally had been juggling the idea of purchasing a new camera and researched mirror-less, full frame and Nikon´s latest crop frame cameras. Cost, size, proven performance and compatibility with my current equipment were all factors in my selection process.

The D500 was very tempting but the D7500 just seemed like the best option for my needs and I have not been disappointed. I´m an amateur photographer and I don´t need the very best equipment. I didn´t want a very large camera so that nixed moving to full frame regardless of the benefits. I also wanted to give mirror-less more time to grow and to see better battery life. The D7500 is larger but smaller than the D500. It feels more balanced than my D5200, especially with larger lenses and speedlight attached.

Compared to my D5200 the D7500 has more physical controls...enabling me to change settings faster, U1/U2 settings, touch screen, better sensor performance, more focus points, flash commander mode and more. It also has a built in flash compared to the D500...I can go on and on...just a very powerful camera system.

This is the best quality Nikon camera I´ve yet owned. Started with an EM, went to an FM, then a Coolpix L27, then a D3500, then an old used D5300 and now a D7500. I opted for the 18-300 VR lens for one reason. I didn´t want to have to swap lens all the time. GLAD I did!! Have not found one instance that I could see any drawback to this lens. I do all kinds of photos with it. I am VERY pleased with this camera. It does all I ever could want! I thank you for making a quality product!!

Recently upgraded from my Nikon d5200 and decided on the D7500. This camera is perfect for every aspect of photography for a mid priced camera. If your looking for a camera that can do it all then this is worth a look at.

I upgraded from my ancient Canon 450D. I did about 4-5 months of research, before getting this. Initially planned on getting a mirrorless camera because of their convenience, but Nikon only had the Z6 and Z7 in the market then, which were both out of my budget, so I was waiting for the Z50. When I realized that the Z50 was using the same sensor with a newer processor, I decided to get a refurbished version of the D7500 for way less. I have not regretted buying it yet! Compared to my old system it has way better low light performance and much better ISO sensitivity!
