Great at finding range, but very slippery in hand.
Posted by Michael on March 11, 2019
The rangefinder us a great, small size and grabs targets very easily. I almost let it slip out of my hands several times today, though, as the plastic exterior is very slippery. A non-stop coating would have made this a great rangefinder, but without it I fear it will be broken quickly, even though I am very careful with it.

Ive used different rangefinders in the past and this one by far is the best. Its fast and the stabilizing feature is awesome.

Stabilized is Cool!! Configurable is the Best!
Posted by Mocktwo on February 11, 2019
I bought the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized last week and used it for the first time. Stellar. I used the Bushnell X2 in the store - it felt great and shot quick (I could only get up to 100 yards)., but only shows angle/degrees of slope. When I researched the Coolshot Pro, it has 4 configurable slope settings. (1) Off. (2) Distance & Height, which shows you yards to the target and the +/- height of the target; (3) Horizontal Distance and Height, which is the bottom side of the triangle as if there was no elevation change and (4) Golf mode, which is the distance to the pin and the slope adjusted distance.
I've tried all 4, but prefer the distance and height. It makes more sense to me to know the green is 5 yards elevated then 3* up (or down).
It also has a closest target algorithm to pick out the pin in front of trees.
The other big feature is the image stabilization. Some places say that is only the view, others say the laser is also stabilized. I don't know, but I was able to shoot a pin at 419 yards free standing, which matched the scorecard and my Bushnell GPS. (within a yard). That doesn't validate the rangefinder accuracy, but the fact I picked up a pin at 400+ yards and not the trees or anything behind. I don't have the steadiest of hands, but not the shakes either ... so I was impressed.
I don't use the rangefinder on every shot. Many times a quick peek at my Bushnell G20 GPS watch is enough as I don't have my irons dialed in to 1.2 yard. Checking a pin 400 yards away is silly also. But knowing a bunker is at 200 or clearing the water is 150 from the exact spot you are standing is invaluable.
I've thrown away the box now ... this one is mine. -

The Envy of my golf buddies
Posted by Golf Nutt on February 10, 2019
The range finder is easy to setup and change settings. I've used some of my buddies' range finders recently after mine stopped working (10 years old) and there is no comparison to the stability and the clarity of the display. The quickness of reporting the distance along with the stability allows me to provide yardages to my buddies quickly.
If any of them have done their homework they can tell if i'm using the slope feature. The green light honesty feature as well as having to turn slope on and off via the menu vs a flip switch or an adapter. This is a must have for an avid golfer such as myself who plays 2 to 4 times a week. -

Cool Shot 20, light, compact and easy to use
Posted by Mike W. on January 25, 2019
My previous Nikon range finder is at least 10 years old. It still functions, but I figured with new technology time for a change. This model is smaller, waterproof, very accurate and light weight, one button function, easy to use. It came with an extra battery and nice case.
