    Total Steal for Money

Posted by Jaybee on December 21, 2013

This lens is the highly recommended prime lens for every eventuality- from amateur to professionals-- best bokeh, high detailed portraits, works good on low- light situations and manages to give that tact sharp image every time you press the shutter release. This is my one and only prime lens that is very flexible in every aspect that I wanted it to cover. A perfect companion. It rarely leaves the body of my DSLR. Highly recommended. Better get one for yourself! Really worth it.

    Love this little gem!

    Posted by NikonMom2013 on November 24, 2013

I have only had it a few days, and I am using it on my old D40. Gave the old girl some new life per say!! Photos attached are straight from the camera, no post processing, except for the b/w.

    good walking lens

Posted by Jarjar on September 14, 2013

So, I´m not one to buy prime lenses even thought they are faster lighter and usually cheaper. I went ahead and purchased this lens to not only help me in low light indoor situations but also the weight of this lenses really justifies the purchase to me. The image quality is great but expect some vignettes when shooting from f-1.8-4. Great for family images. The auto-focus is extremely fast and quiet as well. Over-all, great lens

Very good lens for the money!

Posted by Janik on August 10, 2013

I was looking for a good standard lens and this one fits the bill very nicely. Only had it a few days but i´m impressed so far. The auto focus works great even in somewhat limited light.

Beautiful lens at a great price

    Posted by Lilly27x on May 13, 2013

This was my first lens I used digitally on my D90 when I made my transition from film. The sales rep told me its a great lens for portraits, and they was right! But the quality doesn´t just suit portraits as you can see from my sample photos.

Pros: very good lens for the price, great quality, beautiful depth of field and awesome in low light situations

Cons: my previous lens was a zoom, so I am still adjusting on framing without dancing around to get the perfect distance. But hey, I asked for a fixed lens and a beautiful fixed lens I bought!

    Size Doesn´t matter...

I got this lense for almost 2 months now and got an amazing result in terms of sharpness. This is my stay on lense for my everyday adventure outdoor when an unexpectable moment captures by my D5100.

Should be the 1st lens one should buy (unless you are going for the f/1.4G)

Posted by autif on March 17, 2013

I have owned the D3100 (my first and only DSLR) for a grand total of 4 days.

I have owned AF-S 50mm f/1.8G for a grand total of 6 hours. It is my first lens outside of the 18-55mm kit lens.

I have edited these pics in RAWTherapee in GNU/Linux

The pictures are worth a thousand words.
