    Great Lens! Worth The Price!

Posted by JR on September 17, 2012

I took photos at a private candlelit dinner party two days ago and had an awful time taking photos because the aperture on my other lens only goes to about f/5.6. I met a photographer at the party and he recommended this lens. I bought it today and have been testing it out, and it is probably going to be the only lens on my camera body for a while! It´s a great price, not too expensive. Also, it will be great for portraits. Very sharp, nice bokeh, GREAT lens!

    Excellent lens

There are different Nikon lens which they are usually pricey. The 50mm f1.8 is one of the awesome with very reasonable price. At the beginning it´s a little bit hard to make a good composition if you are Tel lens user (some back and forth needed). but after getting use to it is awesome. very sharp image.

    Forget all other lenses

Posted by Aksam on July 12, 2012

I have been absolutely and madly in love with this lens. The moment you would put it on your camera, you wont want to use any other lens. If you own a Nikon DSLR and do not have this lens, then believe me you are at loss. It works equally good on entry level SLR like D3100, D3200 or D5100 and the picture is as crisp and sharp as taken from a pro camera. Look at the sample pictures i have posted. I am not a professional photographer by the way.

    Love this lens

Posted by photogurl on July 5, 2012

Is it possible to be in love with camera equipment? I think so. Recently upgraded from a D60 to a D7000 and wanted a good lens to use for family portraits and at the gym where I volunteer to shoot at different events. Yesterday I took it to the gym to photograph some youth Hockey players training for the up coming season. All the photos came out fantastic.

    Great for Macro Photography

Posted by Meli on June 13, 2012

I bought this lens solely for doll photography, but on occasion I do use it for people and portraits. The picture is really crisp and clear, and the bokehs I get from this lens are absolutely amazing. And, the clarity is still consistent even under low light settings or being indoors. Not a lot of grain like my standard kit lens.

I use this lens on a Nikon D5000, so unfortunately AF doesn´t work, but it´s only a minor drawback, and I enjoy working with MF anyway.

    First Lens

I bought the Nikon5100 without the lens that comes with it and instead bought this one. It pretty much does all the work for you. Keep in mind it does NOT have any zoom function. I am looking for a 2nd lens with zoom capabilities but this lens is great for a 1st time user.
