Simplement incroyable
Posted by Studio Fotomode on February 5, 2017

Better lenses - makes for better photos!
Posted by Tkbavery on January 10, 2017
The impact that this camera has had in a very short time has been special. I especially like the low light capability along with the sharpness of the results.
Glad I made the purchase. -

Beautiful Lens
Posted by HarryScary on November 5, 2016
I´ve had the pleasure of using the lens on several outings now and I´m very pleased with both response on camera and the results. I like fast glass and this lens is amazing. I will rarely leave home without this one in the bag.

Amazing Lens
Posted by JZPhoto on September 14, 2016
Yes, it´s expensive but the results are worth it. I´ve had this lens for only a few days now and couldn´t be happier with some of the photos that I have created with it.

Wow. What a beauty
Posted by LarLac on September 11, 2016
I just received this lens, and I can say, without hesitation, that it´s the best prime lens in my bag. The bokeh is smooth and creamy, while the sharpness across the frame is astonishing. I took it out for a spin at a family gathering and got some shots that would not have been possible with a lesser lens. The small size of the images posted here won´t do justice, but just know that on a large monitor with full resolution, the detail is crisp and sharp. The low-light capability of this lens is, at f/1.4, obviously going to be good, but I was not prepared for the results I was able to get with these, and other, images. I will not regret this purchase, even at the price.

Nikon 105mm f/1.4G ED first impressions
Posted by Peter on August 30, 2016
I recently read a review, whose title sounded unforgettable portraits with a magic lens. Essentially, all the news and articles gives this lens as a working tool for pro fashion, portrait and weddings photographers. For the high selling price it has its own logic. From my perspective, that´s not quite true.
About the one-o-five:
Currently it´s the best telephoto prime lens on a market with aperture of f/1.4G. The image quallity, sharpness, beautiful colors and bokeh are really amazing. I had the opportunity to try Nikon 85 f/1.4G and 70-200 f/2.8G ED VRII, which are often compared with this lens. I think that in between this amazing lenses 105 f1.4E just stand. It has the same brightness as 85mm f/1.4 and sharpness as 70-200mm f/2.8.
The autofocus works great. I´m using it on Nikon Df, which is not as the Nikon´s DSLR D750, D810 or D5 / D4S, still it works perfectly and quickly.
The body design includes all the modern principles. On the side is a function for automatic and manual focus. Sealing the same as with the other top lenses from Nikon factory with f/1.4G with nano crystal coating. Compared to the previous f1.4 lenses, it has an electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism and fluorine coat, which effectively repels dust, water droplets, grease or dirt, ensuring easy removal even when they adhere to the lens surface.
Image quality from another perspective:
I´m not a fashion, portrait or wedding photographer. Photography is my hobby, so I have on this lens slightly different view.
Now I enjoy the 24 f/1.8G and 58 f/1.4G lenses, so I spent some time ti waiting for a lens with a longer focal, with similar luminosity. As an alternative, I had 70-200 f4, which is fantastic as well, but the maximum aperture of f/4 was limiting. The heavier the lens, I didn´t think so as well. This is the main reason for the purchase of the newest 105. I think that Nikon still comes with a longer lens like a 125mm or 180mm f1.4 (f2), but will be much harder, because there was no reason he waited on.
Now to the merits. The image quallity of Nikon 105mm f/1.4E lens is literally astonishing. Beautiful colors, with superb image blur and sharp drawing is magical (an anagram to the top). if you leave to use a colored background, supported by natural light, you will definitely excited about the images.
Merit:
- excellent image quality
- brilliant in low light performance
- beautifully blurred backgrounds (bokeh)
- minimalized chromatic aberration, ghosting and flare
- big and smooth focusing ring
- sealing against dust and water
Cons:
- very expensive
- weight 985 g
Summary:
Nikon´s 105mm /1.4E ED is the best lens in Nikon prime lens lineup. It´s bigger, quite heavy, but optically superb. It´s cool lens for fashion, portraits or weddings photographers. However, this lens finds its application in many other ways.
