I got this lens to pair with my Nikon N80 and I am very pleased wit what I´ve gotten out of it. Being a student, still new to photography, I found this lense extremely easy to use. It can switch from auto focus to manual, which I do frequently, and it takes over all stunning pictures. would buy this lens if your a beginner or you want something simple and light weight.

This lens is perfect for portraits, But f1.8 is so shallow so I recommend using it on f2.2 or 2.5. This is however a Great lens

This is my cheapest lens, it might even be the cheapest nikon lens out there. But my cheapest, this, is my favorite lens I have ever owned/used.

I had originally bought this for my D3000, not knowing that the lens wouldn´t AF with a AF lens [who would have guessed]. Even though I had to focus manually it was still a great lens. But now I have a D90 and my 50mil is my primary lens.
