One of the Best Z-mount Lenses
Surprisingly good lens. Using this on the RED Komodo X Z-mount camera. Smooth background rendering when wide open. No focus breathing at all. Amazingly good at night with city lights in the scene. Well balanced on the camera. I've also tried it on a Z6, and at full frame the edge rendering is very even. Close focus capability is very close. About the only thing not to like (a little) is the lens hood, but since I use Variable ND and Polarizer filters, I tend not to use the lens hood.

This lens was a refurb. It looked new. I have used it for astrophotography and night shots on a trip up the Seine river. Even wide open I was pleased with the results. Excellent lens.

Nikkor Z 24mm f/1.8 S
When I first bought my Z8 I was primarily using a Sigma Art 24mm f/1.4 wirh the adaptor, as well as other F series lenses. In fairness, the Sigma is a great lens and works well with the Z adaptor, but I wanted to take full advantage of the Z system and felt that I should start upgrading. I started with the 24mm f/1.8 S. It's a better lens than the Sigma, no doubt about it, even comparing f/1.8 to f/1.4. It's sharper and auto focus is much better.

Best 24mm Nikon has made
This is really a sharp lens, its sharp from edge to edge. I use this lens on my Z6 and I love the images I produce with this lens. I shoot weddings and lighting is always an issue. I´m also a natural light shooter. So, whenever I can I don´t use flashes and I like to shoot with fast glass and wide open. This lens allows me to shoot the way I like. While this 24mm is only an F1.8 lens its honestly better than my old F1.4 24mm. It´s sharper, fast and produces better color. If 24mm is a focal length that you use, then you can´t go wrong with this lens. Nice Job Nikon.
