Upgrade for D750
Posted by Henk Jamin on November 29, 2021
Removes all minor issues I had with D750, especially the much upgraded buffer is nice with burst shooting.

Excellent integration of high-performance DSLR and mirrorless capabilities
Posted by A Customer on November 5, 2021
After a significant amount of homework and comparison shopping for a full-frame upgrade, I decided this would be worth the cost. Two months in and I am more than impressed. Love that it provides the feel, speed and capability of a high-performance DSLR with OVF (with the quietest mechanical shutter I've ever heard) and gives you the option of using the excellently accurate (and silent electronic shutter) Live View with its Z-series phase detect focus system. The low-light capability of this camera to capture clear sharp images at high ISO is unbelievable and makes more photographic opportunities possible.

Best camera available IMHO
Posted by Andrea on August 20, 2021
I'm a long time Nikon user and this is by far my favorite Nikon camera. In my opinion the focus improvements on this camera are game changing. I bought it as a second shooting body and thought my D750 could never be beat but this leaves the D750 in the dust. I've had it 4 months now and am going to be purchasing another one to replace my D750. As a family photographer being able to schedule shoots in the middle of the day and not worry because of the 1/8000 shutter speed is game changing. Being able to set eye tracking focus on squirmy toddlers is also a welcome feature in my line of work. I have never taken a picture with this camera and felt like my technology failed me. I also love that the controls are intuitive and that unlike the D750, the D780 has the ISO adjustment back up in the main controls with a dedicated button instead of buried. As I approach my next camera purchase I'm putting this camera above the current mirrorless options. It's just the perfect all around camera. I do indoor shoots with no OCF very easily and shoot in the brightest sun without blowing out the pictures. I cannot say enough about this camera!

Brilliant Machine!!
Posted by David Wilson on May 3, 2021
I’ve been using Nikons almost exclusively since about 1985. The 780 allows me to use my 1980s 400-3.5AiS, 1992 85-1.8 AF, 1999 180-2.8 AF-D all perfectly without a glitch. My eyesight is not what it once was and I can easily manual focus in this finder. The rest is a Nikon walk in the park to set the controls you want. I always said the N90 was the best integrated one piece camera Nikon ever made, now I think this is right there somewhere. It’s a brilliant machine that has a place among the legends. Dave

Shocking to say the least!
Posted by Nate Nate on October 24, 2020
Now that I have had a few months to learn and adjust to the new features , I am really loving the D780. It's much faster than my d750 was and I still get to use my same SD cards. I haven't needed a flash because this D780 is amazing in low light shooting. The quality of prints and video is much improved but when you switch to live view"WOW". MANY PEOPLE WERE PUT OFF BY THE COST but it's well worth the advanced features. Thanks Nikon for not forgetting those of us who still value the DSLR.

Many happy parents with this most good camera
Posted by Fausto Burnstein on October 15, 2020
This is most good camera. I am taking pictures for kids birthday party as my job and parents always extra happy with what I give them. Kid hard to take in picture because of always moving, D780 says no problem if kid move, I take picture good anyway. Party always have balloons and lots of color, D780 says no problem to balloons and lots of color, I make balloons look exciting, like super balloons.
