Professional, solid, mature performance, untouchable for the price, not a starter kit..

After 14 years using Nikon DX bodies,D70, D90, D7000 I was ready for an upgrade. The sensor produces sharp images with gorgeous colors and high ISO performance ,amazing auto focus and metering make this a game changer for me.I do a lot of event type photography and those key features allow me to see opportunities and make images faster then before with a high percentage of keepers. The weather sealing and pro construction means I can take it outside too. The viewfinder is the best I´ve ever used and the pivoting touch screen display is very useful. The control layout allows for a lot of customization and will be familiar to any Nikon shooter.

Best APS-C Format Camera On The Market...

Posted by Plumber on February 16, 2020

This camera produces gorgeous photos straight out of the camera. The speed and accuracy of the AF on this camera is second to none and the ABSOLUTE best in an APS-C format camera that money can buy. Period! While it´s more than capable of shooting static subjects, I use it exclusively for sports and wildlife. And the buffer is insanely huge and never seems to fill up or slow down whenever I shoot wildlife or sports. I´ve had my D500 for over two years and haven´t had a single issue since owning it. It complements my D850 perfectly, too. Bottom line: if your photographic interest is in sports or wildlife, buy it.

    Best camera I've ever owned!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous on February 10, 2020

I have owned three other Nikon's before this one and although I have always been pleased I must say the D500 is the Cadillac I have never owned before. It has all the bells and whistles of the D5 at a fraction of the cost. I cannot imagine Nikon ever topping this one camera. It is a pleasure to use.

    Great camera

Posted by JackDad on February 7, 2020

I like my D500. I do not like the fact that Snapbridge doesn´t work. Consider how connective your phone and computer are and its a wonder that anyone would produce connectivity software today that doesn´t work - thus not 5 but 4 stars.
Other than that it´s a great camera. I use it for bird photography and have gotten some real wall-hanger landscapes. Overall an excellent camera. I have read a review here that RAW NEFs from this camera can not be processed. ???? I´ve been processing them since day one. Probably put 20,000 RAW NEFs through the camera with no problem. I use Lightroom and Photoshop for processing.

    Really APS-C Beast

Posted by Amahdi on January 19, 2020

D500 is one of the Nikon flagship Camera. Amazing features and build quality. I Had the D5 before which i miss but not when I get the D500. Its really impressive to have D5 features in less expensive (without compromising quality). The added benefit of the D500 , there is no low pass filter. Love it.

    Excellent

    Posted by WDM99 on January 10, 2020

I have owned and used a Nikon D300 since 2007; purchased shortly after its release. I was happy with the D300, but wished for better resolution and improved exposure and focus control. I considered purchasing a full-frame Nikon, but after much research decided the D500 would meet my needs. And, it has!
Pros: Excellent resolution, exposure and focus
    Cons: Still a bit heavy
I purchased the D500 as a kit including the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 16-80mm f/2.8-4E ED VR Lens. This is an excellent camera/lens combo.

    Just what I needed!

Posted by EyeGuy on December 28, 2019

Upgraded from a D60 to this camera. Like going from a scooter to a Ferrari! Familiar Nikon format and controls (but a lot more of them), faster, brighter, and a whole lot more capable.

    Stunned!

    Posted by mrs2a50 on December 27, 2019

I am so in love with this camera! I upgraded from a D7000 after 4 years, and this camera is light years ahead of what I thought was suiting me just fine. But wow. The focus rate, the buffering, the fps - just these features alone take the D500 over the top for me. I´m a hobbyist photographer, and I have now found a new love for my hobby. Birding is a new venture for me, and I´m loving the shots I´m able to capture given the faster focus and fps. It has an incredibly solid build and just feels good in my hands. The ISO capabilities are phenomenal as well. Anyone who says a DX format camera isn´t a ´´serious´´ camera has never tried the D500. Absolutely stunning performance!
