Diving into bird photography.
Posted by Semi-pro Semi-pro on June 21, 2022
I’ll preface my review and say I’ve approached photography as a hobby for the last 10 years. I had a Nikon d3100 that I use to take on hikes. It was a wonderful camera but was a bit bulky and was often left behind unless my trip was specifically for taking photos. As much as I don’t want to admit, high end smart phone cameras have taken its place. Now years into the future I found myself setting up my iPhone in front of bird feeders and using my watch to take photos. Problem is… bird feeders are lame! I began to explore birding cameras but really didn’t want to spend much money. I’m new to this niche of photo taking and I just needed to dip a toe in the pool. This is where I found the Nikon COOLPIX B600. At this price I was excited to try it out but also skeptical I would get my money’s worth. Well I can now say I was completely wrong. At this time I’ve spent about 3 hours in my yard watching birds (without a tripod) and have taken the best bird photos of my hobbying career. I can see myself down the road investing in a higher end camera, but for the price the B600 will be with me as wade deeper into bird photography.I’ll definitely say the camera has limited settings and I wish I had a bit more manual control over the settings. But for ~300$ I have no real complaints.

An awesome point and shoot camera but with some small flaws
Posted by abdullah on October 2, 2021
Its an alright camera but its low light capabilities are poor and in low light the camera cannot focus. at ISO 800 the image is hardly usable. But other than that it is great that is why I give I four not five. I have used it for product photography. and this is where it shines. it can go crazy macro like really macro, and it can zoom amazingly and still produce sharp photos. the video is good and I use it for vlogging and diy videos. If this sounds good get it! you won't be disappointed!!!

New camera rocks!
Posted by Candace on September 18, 2021
I love this camera! I am not an accomplished photographer, but I'm climbing up from the beginner realm. I have somehow stumbled upon setting that allow me to photograph hummingbirds with blurry wings. I would love to learn how to get clear wings but don't understand the settings to do it. This takes such clear and precise photos. No more blurry shots!

A fantastic, easy to use camera
Posted by Mitchell Montanaro on October 24, 2020
I love this camera! At first, I thought nothing much changed from the previous model, the B500. However, the extra optical zoom, as well as a rechargeable battery, and a better user experience makes this camera an absolute joy to use. Auto mode works very well on it, and for the price, it is absolutely worth it!
