This is an awesome kit-lens replacement. It is well worth every penny and I recommend it to everyone. It is also the perfect gift for a photographer of any level.
This super-light lens has amazing clarity and operation. It took me just one minute to shoot some flowers at f1.8 in my kitchen with beautiful, smooth bokeh, and to manually focus to make it perfect, all this for under $200? This is an incredible value and highly recommended. Color saturation is also spectacular. Perfect for portraits, candid shots and general use. Very fast focusing also.
I can´t say enough good stuff about this lens. I needed a faster, simple lens to put in my bag and this did the trick and for a really low price!
Awesome little lens. I found it especially useful in low light situations!
Everyone needs a good prime lens. This is an affordable, super sharp and lightweight lens that does well in low light situations. The ´´nifty fifty´´ is the staple of all time go-to lenses. On a DX camera it is actually more like a 75mm so you may opt for the 35mm lens, which equates to 52.5mm, if you want to be closer to your subject. Both the 50mm 1.8 and 35mm 1.8 are very nice lenses that can yield sharp, professional quality results. The first 50mm I had was the D model, the predecessor to this one, and I couldn´t believe what I had been missing out on! The lens inspired me to take more photos and get more creative. This lens is well worth the relatively small investment.
I purchased this lens a few months ago. The best purchase I made. . I can´t put it down. I put two other lenses aside in my bag because I like the images so much. The images are very sharp where I want them to be. The subjects look great. I´m using this lens on a D3400. Because I like this so much my next lens will also be a prime FX.
Buy it if you haven´t. I recommend this lens.
This lens is incredibly sharp and with the f 1.8 aperture, gives you a narrow d.o.f. Works great with my D3400, even though it´s a crop sensor camera. I highly recommend this lens for anybody at any experience level.
I was a hardcore landscape photographer and didn´t really have interest in portrait photography, but I decided that I needed another lens and bought this one. It wasn´t long before I was booking portrait gigs! This lens has paid for itself 20x over! I was recently thinking of getting the new Sigma 50MM 1.4 Art lens, but I´m not sure it would be able to replace my Nikon *Nifty Fifty*
Highly recommend! I shoot with a D750 and only have 2 other lenses - Nikkor 28-300 (Swiss Army knife of lenses) and a Sigma 12-24 (Another great lens for the price!
This is a great cheap lens ,,,,,for portrait. i would recommend it to all new photographers
