    Nice lens.

    Nice lens, compact too.
    But I just realized something.
This lens doesn´t have VR, not required on a fixed lens?

    AMAZING!!!

This is one of my go to lenses always using this wonderful piece of glass. I do most of my photography in abandoned environments and this lens holds up great to the occasional misstep

    Perfect compact lens.

For such a cheap lens, this little guy gets the job done. I use it for everything from portraits, products, to scenery and close-ups in nature. I really have no complaints besides the AF being a little picky, but I use MF most of the time anyway. Overall a great lens. Lots of power in a small package.

Excellent lens; my new favourite lens

I bought a used D90 a few weeks ago with the 18-55 VR2II. I thought that was great. Then I purchased a 50mm 1.8D and thought was even better. Now I purchased this 35mm 1.8G and it´s amazing. I leave it on most of the time now. It´s great for indoor photos/video. Outdoors even at night. I´m taking handheld photos of the stars and it´s simply amazing. And that´s with an older D90. This lens is SUPERB.

Mount this lovely lens on any DX camera and you´ll get exceptional sharpness, beautiful bokeh and excellent low light performance. Once again Nikon hit the spot, Shooting with D5500 and 35mm f/1.8G was my best ever photography experience, It was so good that my friends started changing their gear to this perfect match!
    Thank you Nikon!

    Amazing little lens!!

I just received this lens for my birthday, in addition to two zoom lenses I already have, and I wish I could use it all the time. The large aperture creates beautiful depth of field and bokeh, and the subjects are always super sharp. It´s fantastic in low light. This will create stunning portraits. You need a 35mm or a 50mm in your camera bag.

    Beginners dream

Posted by Diplo on June 12, 2015

I somewhat recently took up photography and was using an 18 - 50mm kit lens. I´d always seen these sort of magazine quality images with perfect contrast and creamy bokeh, and I could nail the composition of my photos but it still wouldn´t ever look quite as good. This lens fixed that. It´s incredibly sharp, but what´s more is that colors pop like crazy on my photos! I got it a few days ago and I can already tell a huge difference with my photography.

As an amateur, I´m definitely looking to learn more about photography. This lens will help me in that it is a fixed lens with no zoom, and so forces me to think more about framing the subject and the angle instead of just lazily zooming in or out.

My only complaint about this lens is that it somehow has made my camera louder, specifically focusing and shooting. But it´s not a big deal. All in all, I recommend this lens to anyone learning photography or looking for an inexpensive, professional looking lens.
