    Astounding!

Posted by KenS on April 23, 2016

I waited a long, long, time for this camera. Got it the first day of its release (April 21) and used it two days later for a bodybuilding/fitness competition with-less-than-perfect stage lighting. Shot over 2K images on XQD and SD. It´s superb color rendition, lighting fast focus, and ability to capture extremely high quality images (shot at ISO 6400) make it a shooter´s delight. It´s definitely a pro camera. Lots of similarities to the D5. The only drawback I noticed was it seems to shoot fewer images (JPEG Fine) per fully charged battery than what the specs estimate. I did have my LCD/Monitor ´´on´´ times set to longer than default, had the monitor show each image immediately after the shot was taken, and did some deleting as I shot. So that would eat some extra battery power and might explain the discrepancy. I would definitely recommend having a spare EN-EL15 battery on hand.

    Just Unboxed My D500

Posted by MaxPhoto on April 23, 2016

I have only used it for a day. I preordered the camera from Nikon´s website. Very easy to deal with and very happy with their service. I have taken a few pictures with it and a couple of videos at 1080. The camera is very easy to use. The quality is amazing. The movable touch screen help me get video shots at every angle. Only bad thing is I have to wait for the app on the iPhone. The Android is already out and the IOS version should be out soon.
