    Outstanding wide zoom

    This wide zoom has been around for a long time for a reason - it is just excellent in every respect with both FX and DX cameras. Images are super sharp with great contrast. Tiny bit of distortion but nothing that has ever bothered me and much less than a lot of other wide zooms I´ve used. If you don´t need 14mm, this is a better option than the also excellent 14-24mm Nikkor since it gives you more on the long end and, more importantly, accepts 77mm filters. I also own a 24-70mm which may be better for a walk-around lens (if you only want to travel with one lens and have longer reach) but otherwise, FX or DX, the 17-35mm is my ´´go to´´ wide lens.
