Works exactly as expected. Very well made. Feels solid. I like the auto/manual feature. Definitely a recommended buy. I use it all the time.

A basic lens, required by every serious photog.
Posted by Semi-Pro, Mac on April 14, 2011
The lens is intended to fit in my basic kit for portraiture and some close-up animal shots in some low-light views. With limited use, I am pleased with the initial results. I will feel better about it as greater use unfolds. The price is right and the quality meets my needs.

An excellent addition to a DX shooters bag. Does what you expect. Gets out of the way and lets you shoot.

Perfect lens substititute for 50mm standard
Posted by JBS on April 14, 2011
I use this lens on a Nikon D300 body and it is my go to lens for portraiture and general purpose use when I need a fast lens. It auto-focuses very fast and accurate and produces decent smooth out of focus areas. For the price it is a value for those who can not afford the f1.4.

Useful
Posted by Ken on April 14, 2011
I bought the 35mm f/1.8G lens as a ´´normal´´ lens for my D-90. This is a very easy lens to just walk around with. It is light in weight and fast enough to provide good DOF. Sharpness is very good. Emphasis seems to be moving away from primes in today´s variety of zoom lenses. The 35mm f/1.8 makes a great addition to any setup.

This is a Go To lens for me when shooting photos of people. It´s sharp, compact, and beats any other slow lens I own!

I use this lens for taking low light images and for reference shots of hand built model kits which are transformed into illustrations.

Love this lens for taking family portraits and of our kids in doors. my wife doesn´t like it since she has to use her feet as a zoom but i love the f/1.8.

Love this lens!

First lens I´ve ever owned. I love the focal length on my D90 and how sharp the images are. The colors and contrast are also nice. For the price this lens if fantastic.
